This could be very interesting...

Alright, I won't get too deep in the details for obvious reasons, but here is the little thing I discovered...

Basically, I discovered a way to access a bank while in a quest.... only a certain quest though, this would not work with others for certain reasons... Now because of this, you could technically, with 2 people, have 1 die, and the other could take his or her soul stone, and put it in the bank, or shared bank...

Now, you may be thinking "What the hell is the point?" Well, what do you think would happen, if said person was... out of range of their soul stone for 10 seconds?...  Grin Grin Grin

Edited:
So, I decided to test it... What happened was, after placing the stone in the bank, there was no more "out of range of your soul stone" message, no matter how far away I moved. Pulling the stone out made the message re appear, and functioned normally... Kinda cute.

Also, it's "not bankable", but will go in the shared bank, and from there, can be moved to the regular bank.

After 10 seconds, they rubberband back along with all the contents in the shared bank. Got it, it's the Safecracker exploit.

Pft... The curiosity is killing me, though... I'd imagine that their client would probably just crash.  Cheesy

For whatever reason I remember that an exploit that earned quite a few banhammer was tied to being able to open the bank while in quest in the early days...

Though I don't remember the specifics as to why it was that harsh a reaction.

The big one I remember was being able to run to a banker with a20th raid reward list and being able to drag all reward choices into shared.  Was great for when tomes didn't survive TR process.

I used the 1750 favor shared +2 tome exploit prior to the chestapalooza +3 tome overflow exploit to combat that.

I have a pretty good guess... In this specific quest I am referring to, there is some quest items. Although they are incredibly crappy and pointless to have outside of the quest, nonetheless, this will allow you to take them out of the quest with you...

Sooo, I'm thinking because of things like the goggles for Ascension Chamber, etc.... Witch doesn't make too much sense, since all you would get is 1 use out of the goggles...  Who cares?

But, with the way this works, I see no way of having a bank in any other quest, other than the one I found.

i mean someone has to. Only 2 things that make me happy to buy from turbine are tomes and content. Tomes only because i want to be able to plan any build.

I like some of the armor kits.  I would buy more if the prurient bitches out there wouldn't cry about moarrealarmorskinz every time the new skins come out.

I want bikinimail.  if I want to watch heavily armored chicks run around I'll play mechwarrior.

Not the same but some similarities - a year or so ago you could DC just before death in Gianthold Wilderness, and when you reconnected you were both alive and a soulstone. My guildmate had picked up my stone, but he was able to trade it to me so I could put my own soulstone in my backpack and go anywhere.

It was kind cool because you didn't take damage anymore (or maybe took it but couldn't die), but it sucked because your slayers, rares, and explorer points didn't count.

We hadn't even realized at first that I was both Flesh and Stone, he'd picked up my stone but then thought I'd used a cake. But none of my counts were advancing and a GM couldn't help me (surprise) and then my guildie realized he still had my stone and we played with it a bit.

I couldn't find anything useful to do with it at the time, and I have no idea if it still "works", but if anybody extends it to something usefull please share back Smiley

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

Keep holding your breath. I doubt we'll ever see chainmail bikinis from the same people that gave us the DDO half-elves. The game has been around for over 8 years and not one Red Sonja outfit in the game.

If you have a pet or hireling that picks up your stone and then you dismiss the pet/hireling, the same thing happens.  If there is no soulstone, then you don't have anywhere to rubberband to and therefore don't rubberband.

That's not an exploit as far as I know, just a system limitation/WAI.

Rubberbanding causes a huge CPU spike, so pet dismissing can be useful when multiboxing.

Among other things, you used to be able to drag quest rewards straight into the bank.  The entire list of them, one at a time.

One ban was due to reuse of items that shouldn't be taken out of quest:
Putting items (e.g. VON1's Oath of Droaam, Shroud's 4 items) into the bank  means you could pop them out in other quests... and use them.

hmm, getting killed at first fight in a quest, going through quest as a ghost, raise at the end quest shrine and then complete quest...

This offers opportunities.
