FoM doesn't stop dance.
What's your build? Are you an air savant? Air savants are immune to most knockdown effects, and therefore the FoM icon will not show up on your buff bar. Same thing as acrobats with the "kip up" ability.
Are you wearing spiky boots?
Wielding a sireth?

Rock boots it is. Maybe it's the immunity to slippery surfaces that suppresses the FoM icon in your buff bar, and not knockdown immunity. I know it's one or the other.

Well I don't recall there being spiders in wgu.

Fom protects from the Web spell, but not from "physical" webs spiders throw at you like throwing weapons.
It has never protected from dance (but some chocolate bugs from the store do!), and has been nerfed not to prevent earthgrab and some webs anymore.

FoM not doing anything against disco balls/dance spells isn't new.  I do know that Pale Master undead forms protected against dancing, but I don't know if it does after the enhancement pass.  My Pale Master turned into a Sorc and I haven't gotten around to TRing him again.  Probably won't TR him for a long time now, too.

This is such a silly manner but since I've done a lot of testing about this in CiTW back in the day, I'm pretty sure this is right. FoM protects against Web, the spell which is always casted on the ground, it does not, however, protect you against Entangle, which is an ability that looks like a thrown web but it is not the actual spell, this is the ranged ability some spiders have (examples are driders and bebeliths). You can tell the difference between entangle and web in the combat log; also, when you walk over a Web with FoM, you can see the FoM icon over your head telling you that you're immune, while everytime you get Entangled, you can see a saves roll meaning that you are not immune even with FoM.

What was the last time you could throw a web to someone by casting the level 2 spell?

Also, since it is obvious that you are not the test by yourself type of player, at least read the wiki, it's not hard.
