	Eh, on the topic of server merge, I actually am in favor of it. More people = more people to socialize with, more people to group with, etc. One thing I love about ESO, the American and European megaserver. Helps when friends are not spread out on a handful of different servers. As for Jalont... Why do I care at all about Jalont? Or anyone else on the ddo forums I come here because it is NOT the ddo forums

	Doh. Didn't think of that Flav :/ Whilst I know some things techy related, granted... very few... I know next to nothing about the workings of servers and such. I was just speaking as a player, that I like having a lot of people on servers, rather than a few people, spread out among many servers. Believe it or not, after all these years, and problems, I still find DDO fun

	I'd love to see them give free server transfers and "theme" the servers. A dedicated RP server, a family friendly server, a power-gamer server, a casual player server, etc. plus a few "general purpose" servers. Because not just "more people", but "more people like you" would be great. For that to really work, though, they need to offer "complete" transfers, that is, my guild and its airship, my account shared bank, etc. They could even tweak the settings between servers. We know they can, because they've inadvertently done it (Shared Ingredients Bank Tab is on for only 1 server). So make the power-gamer server reduced or no dungeon scaling, and the Family Friendly and Casual Player servers enhanced dungeon scaling. A just plain server merge would suck for me, I have characters on most servers and full character slots on several, I wouldn't be happy if I suddenly had to permanently retire some of those. And the lag is an issue too, if lag would get even worse after a merge, then no thank you.

	Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

	I agree with the guy/gal on the mother forums who was concerned about characters and character slots. 10/10 characters on server X and 8/10 characters on server Y. Merge server X with server Y to get server Z and you don't get 18/20 on server Z, you get 18/10 characters. You'd have to delete 9 characters just to make a new one on server Z. Fuck. That. Shit. If they merge servers and don't add the total character slots together, that will be the final nail in the coffin for me. I'd rather blow Cordo after he pulled out of Toleros brown eye (or any of her many sticky gross fat folds, like the ones on the back of her neck) than keep playing with reduced character slots.

Also consider that two years ago we had a lot less areas to be spread over... Basically as the time go, with all the added stuff, the server is going to feel empty, even if the population number wasn't going down... just because the population is going to be spread over more area. Updated hardware is not really mandatory... I'm still running DDO ( the client side ) on basically the same hardware as when I started playing ( ok, I added 2Gb of Ram, SSD Drives and replaced the graphic cards when they fried, but it's the same mainboard, the same CPU, the same box and so on ). The main issue ( regarding lag ) is actually not in Turbine hand... but it's in PNAP hand. I'm especially looking at the border router between them and Turbine ( on the PNAP side ) that handle all the traffic for all the Turbine Games ( as well as all the web traffic and more ).

We lived for years with only 2 servers in Europe, from originally 5. So making genre servers will fail, you don't have enough people left in a given population to populate a server... unless you want them to be less populated than wayfinder. ( and trust me in Europe, the servers were less populated than Wayfinder towards the end, I can tell you that right now there's about 0 reasons for Turbine to force a merge on us. )

Add -1 to my name and I will like it more than what I have now. The server is going to feel empty because there are less players playing the game, has nothing to do with anything else you mentioned. Just check oracle if you need to be convinced.
