The Oracle brings you… Wayback Machine pt 2!

Well the Wayback Machine has been good clean fun for many, but not as fun as expected.  So the Oracle again brings you something new!

Judging from the Vault, clearly clean wasn't enough.  People are looking for more salacious content, and the History Channel has proven that if history is presented in cheap makeup and fishnets, those pesky accuracy issues fade away.

No, what people want is dirt, and the dirt the Oracle is dishing is the Wayback Character Guild History Search!  Just select the world, the character, and find out what skeletons they have in their closet:  "OMG You Were in THAT Guild?!", who's the greatest social butterfly, and/or who was just the most kicked out.

There's at least 1 winner out there that was in 28 different guilds.  A couple of those might be renames, but .. seriously?  The Oracle figures you guys can run with this ball, but to get you started, beta testing has shown that some of today's high and mighty leaders had far more humble beginnings.  Get 'em in raid chat and hilarity ensues.

Have fun.   Wink

Oh, hey.. kewl. I found the name of the guild I was in when I 1st started playing, lol. If the data is accurate.

My Thaz (Thazara) is missing a guild, though. It says 2 for May 2013.. it should be 3. In fact you seem to be completely missing the biggest guild on the server, Legends of Orien. "The Legends of Orien" is a different guild.

At one point I was changing my guilds name on an alt every day.  I couldn't find a char with more than 4 showing though.  I did find I was in "Judo and Flabby Mom's Fan Club" at some point.

Hmm, the name it's  giving for the other guild I was in isn't correct.  If a guild changes it's name, does it only show the current name, or all iterations?

i would and have assumed it shows the most recently 'seen' name of that guild

i dont know where the information comes from so its possible that it could be out of date to some degree. if you changed the name of your guild right now, and the oracle didnt 'see' it, then it would not list that as its current name.

but im just guessing here i could be wrong as fuck

That's correct.  The Wayback Machine was started as an anniversary 'celebration' of the loss of the Oracle's data feed from DDO, which went offline last year, and so player and guild data is from then.

P.S.   I didn't realize you could get shards from the Wayback Machine.  That's awesome.  But … Dropbear, so obviously.   Cool

Are characters that were made in beta not worthy? I only show characters either in my current guild or the ones still in my Founder's Guild.

My apologies, but characters from the shadow world of Lamania were always beyond the Oracle's reach.

As someone who was in the live beta (not Lama) but DDO:  Stormreach, Dark is probably talking about that...guilds on Lama are just made to test new buff-bars, guild ships, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera...and would not be important to us anyway Cheesy

Saal Smiley

FYI:  My guilds on Lamaland are always named Saaluta...so it would not matter if they made it on or not Cheesy
