Yeah, I'm not usually much for PVP, but I'm having a good time with this one.  The different maps, objectives and warzone styles keep it interesting.  I do have pvp gear, but I'm still getting aced pretty frequently.

Did you try PVP Starfighter at all?  That's a steep fuckin' learning curve.

It is okay, I enjoy the ground fighting more.

I just read that the cat followed up by visiting the dog house later that night, dropping some Willie Pete in on the sleeping dog.  #epochsfamiliarFTW

I thought it was decently fun, for what it was worth. I have no desire to go back to it, but it was fun while it lasted.

One thing to keep in mind though is that it's basically not F2P. I just shelled out $20 and that was enough to keep me rolling till the level cap, where I lost interest. IMO $20 well spent; the game was fun enough. Think of the f2p version as a "trial" version, which if you like it enough, you should probably pay. It's not like DDO where you can feasibly grind out TP, get every essential pack for free, and get more TP through TRs and gain other packs that way, for no cost whatsoever.

Another thing to keep in mind is that it doesn't really feel like an MMO. 99% of the time I played solo because the player population is so divided. By this, I mean 50% of players are Jedi, and 50% are sith, so there's an instant divide right there... furthermore, different classes start off on different planets and go through somewhat different routes, even if they're both Jedi-aligned or Sith-aligned. This didn't really matter so much to me though, because the storyline was pretty enjoyable.

The game has evolved a bit since I quit... I think when I last played, they were raising the cap to 55, and I have no idea how much has changed since then.

Well, I tried this out, despite myself, and am actually having a pretty good time.

I happened to join up just after what seems to be a fairly major overhaul of the PVP and flashpoint systems, and during a double xp (!!) bonus month (!!!) so I got to 65 in a matter of days, and am stuck playing with hardcore people while having no idea what I'm doing when I PVP.  It's been a lot of fun, getting shouted at and assuming people are tearing out their hair at how much I suck, while offering no help or advice at all.  So much QQ.

The wiki sucks.  Their forums suck.  The group finding system sucks.  The achievement system is probably going to keep me grinding it for quite a while, though.  I enjoy making little progress bars move from left to right, and there are a fuckton of them for me to watch.

Combat is still really boring, but not as clunky as when I tested.

The f2p restraints are just about unbearable unless you just want to play it as a single player story game.  I bought a few cartel points to see if "premium" was any better, but it's not.  So I subscribed for a few months.

I haven't tried out the new episodic content yet (been doing stories in order) so I have that to look forward to.  I should probably join a guild or something but they certainly don't make shopping for one easy.

I think I like the rail shooter starfighter missions best. They made up probably half of my XP getting to 65, which is likely why I have no PVP skills.

If you're gonna be subbed a while all of the class stories are pretty groovy, especially knight and agent. The new episodic content is good stuff.

Played for like a year and a half.  Raided at the top end.

Eventually got annoyed by the hero engine and the constant loading screens that take forever.

Enjoyed PvP but they have no control over the rampant cheating and they have no idea what they want to do with gear/honor.

F2P is KOTOR 3 not an MMO.  It's fun if you just want the stories which are well done but don't expect more.  It isn't P2W more pay to MMO.  The store was trending towards selling necessary items but anything in packs can be sold on the AH.  It was mostly cosmetic but I cannot speak to where it is on the slippery slope.

Guilds are not optional if you want raids, dungeons, or competitive PvP.

Good community.  My wife still loves the game.  I could go back at some point but interested in other games atm.  They do a lot of cool and fun events.

Economy is a bit rough with peaks and valleys but it has a robust crafting system that you can make money on.  Or at least you could can't speak for current state.

Space combat is an interesting distraction but I am waiting for Star Citizen for that.

If you tried beta, the game in it's current state doesn't even compare to Beta.  They cleaned-up and finished out a lot of holes.

I also played a lot and raided at the TOP end. Have multiple world firsts in the raiding scene there. It was and is a good game, but I would not play it again. It has too many flaws and is horribly managed.

PVP skill only matters when you have the pvp gear. Without it, you are less then fodder. SWTOR is the only game where I enjoyed pvp, because my marauder raped everyone.

ya i loved pvp just cuz tank shadow in dps gear was so lul
