Ouch, same happened to me but as completely f2p (not a dollar spent or card bought, just farmed tp/sale tricks) I COULD NOT ask for GM help. It was beyond me f2p priviliges... "Luckily" I still needed 4x3 iconic lives back then so that was the nice opportunity to relevel my eds.
Therein lies the greatest flaw.
The Turdbine system fails and F2P are not entitled to any help?
I'd buy the cheapest thing I could and wait a few days then claim the ETR problem.
I am amazed that you've never spent a cent on the game though?
I understand people take pride in this, but I tend to follow the same philosophy as Meursault though.
If I enjoy a game, I am willing to support it financially.
In recent times, I keep my sub only and spend no extra. I only keep my sub so I keep the VIP features (so I don't have to buy all the bloody packs). My gaming time is too finite to grind for TP unfortunately.

Many years ago when I had spare time (BK - before kids), friends used to give me discs full of games to try.
I'd play thru them enough to get a feel for them and if they were good, I'd buy the originals. I was happy to do this if the game was good enough.
Not l33t hacker behaviour I know, but I always liked to support the development houses that produced good games.
