14/6 Pally/Ranger or 16/4 Pally/Fighter?

I was just wondering what y'all thought would be best for a TWF bastard sword Pally using cleave and great cleave.
I was originally going to go 14/6 pally/ranger so I'd get TWF and ITWF for free along with the Tempest enhancement tree. But I also started wondering if it might be better going 16/4 pally/fighter where I take TWF and ITWF as my two fighter feats. I'd lose access to Tempest but gain another lvl 4 Pally spell (Zeal).

I would say ranger. A few reasons are : Dance of death, acces to killer, full stat modifier offhand, exposing strike and free manyshoot. I doubt 4 fighter + zeal can even come close to that.

Without thinking too deeply about it I think Ranger can/will give you a bit more. Extra PRR, 2 more strength from Rams Might, boosts directly to TWF, a bit of a boost against two favored enemies.
The extra 10% double strike does seem nice though.
Instant asshole. Just add alcohol.

considered 15/5? You lose a feat in improved two weapon fighting. Also lose out on manyshot. But you get to take zeal for the 10%.

Also lose exposing strike. Which I didn't think to mention before. But yeah that could be a good compromise.

The only problem is I'd end up having to take ITWF as a feat instead of getting it for free. I'm already taking a couple of feats like Oversized TWF and Bastard Swords so I don't think I'll have an extra feat to give up :/

15/5 is a strong build and not a bad idea at all, but keep in mind that 10% DS on a twf toon, while being good, is not as good as on a thf or swf since it only applies to half your hits and, with full stat modifier offhand, to half your damage.
It has the same impact on your damage output that 5% DS would make in a thf or swf build.
Exposing strike is really nice, it's like 6 secs cooldown endless smite.
Manyshoot is almost negligible on a melee speced build after the changes they made to it. 1 free feat is nice but fighter also give a lot of free/extra feats.

Don't take oversized, imo is a waste of a feat.

Really? I always thought you needed it to avoid the neg to-hit of wielding a large weapon in the off-hand. Obviously, that wouldn't matter much in higher/epic levels, but wouldn't it hurt in the say lvl 3-14 range?

It used to, but not since they moved combat away from a straight d20 roll. You'll see a few more grazes, but not enough to make much of a difference in lower levels.

15/5.. its the only thing I take besides pure. To be honest, I really do like both. But Pally/Ranger 15/5 is the way to go

Is this the best Pali build ATM? .. I have an old sword and orb lvl 20 SWF Pali and his DPS is a bit shit now. Was thinking of using a +5LR I still have on him. Or is there a better DPS Pali build out there?

Ranger gets you the feats and access to the right enhancement trees. Its all in how you use those points, but yeah... pretty much tits-on-a-Ritz at that point

those builds were bomb before the swf nerf and the orb nerf. first life with 190 prr, glancing blows, 40 something doublestrike... was too easy. You want to go 15/5, 18/x, or pure now. TWF or THF.
