Stick Build: STR or DEX? (Read 3382 times)

	I want to use Epic Light Unending because I have a soft spot in my heart for DR-breaking. One of the mods it has on it is Vertigo +15 which, obviously, lends itself well towards making a trip-based Q-Staff toon. I also have a fully upgraded Sireth, Spear of the Sky on the same toon. I don't NEED to make a tripping-based Thief Acrobat but if I heard any compelling arguments for a STR-based build, I'd find a way to make it work. If I were to make a DEX-based build I could go with Sireth and keep Epic Light Unending in my inventory for DR-breaking situations. My problem is the toon's a Halfling so STR, or lack thereof, could be an issue. Anyone have any thoughts on which avenue I should pursue? Any build, in particular, I should consider? I'd like to go pure Rogue but I would consider an 18Rog/2x build if it were compelling enough.

	DEX is always superior to STR, in all cases; bar none. You need 5 monk levels for proper staffness, however, it's still a DPS gimp no matter how you roll it up.

Why 5 levels of Monk? The Tier 5 TA list of abilities is far more attractive than the T5 list of Henshin Mystic.

	Str?Nope.For a pure rogue TA build,you either go dex or int with op human... � �The sweeping strikes is based on Dex mod,and dire charge is based on highest mod...You dont need any single target cc like trip....

There's absolutely nothing in the monk trees that can make up for 20% doublestrike, especially since Air Stance doesn't stack with insightful DS items. You can make a case for 2 monk splash but the lvl18 core is not negotiable. And Acrobat isn't really gimp, no they're not ranger level DPS but they're quite a long way away from garbage like Monk or Kensai. Plus they're really survivable, and not as frickin' useless as shield builds. It's pretty fun to facetank LE Sor'jek or pt2 cat, even if you can only do it for one minute at a time. edit: also DEX based is better cause Sweeping Strikes DC scales off of that.

	Quick Strike: Doublestrike Buff up to 25%, stacks with everything. No Mercy: 30% more damage to helpless (i.e. knocked down) opponents. That's some sexy shit, my nigga.

	Quickstrike is a Morale bonus to doublestrike.� It doesn�t stack with Killer, but it does give you a higher total. As for a Halfling Acrobat, you can have a 45% Dodge fairly easily. Dodge: 06 - 20 Rogue 03 - Dodge 02 - Mobility 10 - Full Stacks of Nimbleness 15 - Enhancement 03 - Shadow Dodge 05 - Spinning Staff Wall 04 - Scion of the Astral Plane ------------------------------- 48 Max Dex: 22 - Legendary Light Armor 02 - Boat Buff 11 - Acrobat Enhancements 02 - Mobility 03 - Nimble Reaction 02 - Armor Mastery Augment 03 - Shadow Dodge ------------------------------- 45 Max Dodge 25 - Base 02 - Boat Buff 11 - Thief Acrobat 03 - Nimble Reaction 04 - Scion of the Astral Plane ------------------------------- 45
