This is just going to be a project for fun and to test. I am by no means a master builder and have nothing but respect for the knowledge of the players here so I am hoping to tap into that expertise.

The static group I am in is looking to create a group of iconic undead toons all running lesser death aura and death aura healing each other as we quest.

I was thinking of trying to be an undead warlock using fireballs. Do you think this would be viable? Since they want to be iconic, would deep gnome or morninglord be the best choice of race? Would the level split be as simple as 12 warlock 8 wiz or would a fvs splash make any sense for the extra light and/or fire damage?

Any help or advice you could give would be appreciated.

What are you looking to get out of the warlock levels?

I think Im looking to being a fireball thrower. I am thinking about The soul eater tree for things like consume, stricken, eldritch wave, steal life force and the chance for sp regen.

I think I'll spend just enough point sin Tainted scholar for utterdark blast and chain attack off the top of my head and as much light spell power from enlightened spirit as i can afford.

I know I need 7 wiz levels for neg energy burst and lesser death aura and death aura. since fireballs and the soul eater slas would be my main source of dps, I wouldnt care much about offensive spells and take mostly buffs.

I'm just not sure which iconic class would be the best fit for this, PDK or ML? PDK would give me access to another feat I believe and are a charisma based toon but wiz's being intell based, maybe I should go ML.

It could be decent.  12 warlock/8 wiz, spam shiradi MM + warlock SLAs.
