So following up on my brief post from yesterday - I did get to play a few games and the deck definitely worked. This was a very rushed play experience, as in I grabbed a fistful of envelopes from the mailbox and jumped in my friend's car, sleeved the deck at wingstop, and played.

First time out the gate it beat soul sisters hands down, though mostly because I was still making sense of the combo at that point and my friend decided to just scoop. I had enough gas to put 5 or 6 turns on the stack(not all at once) and he was already tapped down and out.

Second game went similarly, then he took the deck and played it against my tron, that deck kinda just looses to tron(at least in it's current state, with the right sideboard it may be fine).

Then we tried a few games against 8-Whack. If you are unfamiliar, 8-Whack is an ultra-aggroy mono-red goblin deck that can and does swing for disturbing amounts of damage early on. Those games mostly didn't go well because of a combination lack of fogs/mana and him just getting really solid draws.

Tonight I finally get a chance to sit down and play-test the deck some myself tonight, do some fine-tuning.

So the biggest wall I am running into seems to be mana. Bouncing the lands for Borderposts is cool, but then I frequently end up on turn 4 with 4 border posts and only 1 land on the field. No matter how you slice it, the deck really needs 6 mana to get going, and a big problem is the borderposts come back into play tapped, so they aren't generating free mana. Once you have Tez going he mitigates that a little, so that helps.

I did quickly realize(as I'm sure you've noticed) how sacking Time Sieve to itself just makes all the sense, since when you second sunrise it, it comes back into play untapped. Even if you tap out for everything else, if you've still got the three for sunrise you can sack tapped artifacts to it, bring them back(it back untapped) and sack again. 2 turns for 3 mana.

As far as dealing with aggro, it just doesn't fog fast enough to handle 8-whack. The number of fogs is fine, but mana is still a problem. Really makes me wish the artifact lands were legal.

Have you considered the Talisman cards? Talisman of Dominance and Talisman of Progress.

Cons: they sting you when you tap for colored mana and you can't cheaty-face them into play
Pros: come into play untapped and are cheap(CMC = 2)

Much more important question: why am I not running mox opals in this deck? Maybe not a play-set but 2-3 could shore up my mana issues a tick or so. You can always Lotus-petal them!

I'm getting the hang of the deck as I practice with it. One problem may just be patience, the need to fog till you run out of fogs(though thats a problem against 8-whack, which just turns into burn if you wait long enough...)

I do think Mox Opals would be solid in the deck. I already have 2. I also have all the Talisman cards. I'm going to toy with using 2 opals and two talismans in place of a few borderposts. I don't think it'll slow down the number of artifacts hitting the field, but it will give more mana that untaps with second sunrise.
