been away a while, curious about warlock

been away for a little over 2 years, friend and I were coming back and going to run a fresh set of characters to cap and I wanted advice on a warlock, did a lot of research but vault knows best. (ignore new account, forgot old one Tongue)

already decided on a ES warlock, as that fits perfectly with what I enjoy and want to run.

not sure on race, human probably unless dragonborn seems like a choice, any other suggestions?

pure 20 seems fine but are there any splits I should consider?

all seems pretty straight forward though, once I hit 20 heading over into divine destinies though, as once again I prefer them.

For ES, 20 Warlock is your best bet.

I'd probably go Dwarf for CON/HP core enhancements, and perhaps Dwarven Shield Mastery.

You're one of those "Caution: This Coffee is Hot" saves from burning, aren't you?

no more of a human who has come to surpass the pitfalls of the human ego and is able to accept that some people are simply more knowledgeable or experienced then I am (especially given my time away) and able to ask my betters for advice about the subject of which they are my betters in.

Cool

like I said it all seemed pretty straight forward though, but if there was something I was missing the vault would know. thanks for the tips by the way Carpone.

I only recently started playing warlock, specifically after the latest wave of nerfs. And even I can tell how much weaker it is now.

Only if you have a Triple completionist hitting all those Sun-elf, Arcane EPLs, and other shit which maximizes your Spell power (light)  only to achieve similar pre-nerf power.
Otherwise those Bursts and Blasts suuuuuuuuuuuck.

hmmmm, ill have to re take a look at the damage scaling on them. . .

I know that regardless I would have to go up TS and get utterdark blast.

as it seems just about nothing rests evil damage, is that still true? it also says boosted by alignment based spell power and I'm a little confused as to what that all encompasses.

also figured I would grab bewitching blast as well to add 10% confuse chance to every aura pulse, or is that no good?

Pure 20 Warlock
  • Human or drow (any race would work really)
  • Fey pact
  • Cha > Int > Con
  • 39 points in ES for T5s
  • 41 points in TS for capstone
  • Utterdark stance
  • Aura, chain and enervating shapes as the situation dictates
  • Maximize, Empower, and Quicken
  • Take the obvious epic warlock feats
  • Take ruin and greater ruin feats (helps shore up the lack of red-named dps)
  • Intensify if possible with dual ruins (I forget offhand)
  • Shiradi destiny - Double Rainbow and Nerve Venom

Gear:
Light/alignment crit and spellpower > Sonic crit and spellpower > Evo DC > Force crit and spellpower
