Aside from creating a build, gearing it, waiting for Lammania and testing it against the kobold, what standard, framework or dead chicken waving is used to calculate DPS?  Is there a specific formula that DDO quants have figured out with reasonable accuracy?  Google spreadsheet?  (Dare to dream) a website? Something current (not barrage).

It's not overly complicated to breakdown and parse auto attack damage per animation without an app. For within-style comparisons, that's all you need. To contrast different fighting style, you need to multiply each by animations per second to approximate a DPS number. For example:

(no helpless)


7.25d2+18 enhancement+48 dex +29 deadly + 4 ninjutsu + 3 monk PLs + = 112.875x1.35 (crit profile) = 152.38125+12.65 (23 seeker) = 165.03125 x 2.46 (RP) = 405.976875 x 3.8 (ANT/SE/DS) = 1542.712125 * 1.05 shadow mastery * 1.05 relentless fury = 1700.8401178125

plus

Mainhand 35 ToF + 15.2 WoF + 36 MF + 10.5 CW Ruby + (20 x 1.81 MP=36.2)  sting +11 quiver  = 143.9 x 3.6 (ANT/SE/DS) = 518.04

= 4925.1923803125 average red name damage per animation while auto attacking

x1.4 animations per second = 6895.2693324375 red name auto attack damage per second

yeah I've always just made my own spreadsheets to do what 5Foot has listed.

Just make lists of damage sources, make everything an average per attack, then multiply by animation speed, and/or projectile/extra attack co-efficient (TWF/Doublestrike/Doubleshot/Etc)

Don't neglect to-hit calculations as various styles have drastically different to-hit %s at endgame.

In my spreadsheets I include fortification, to-hit, fort-bypass, prr of monster, mrr of monster, AC of monster, etc.

The goal when making a dps spreadsheet should be to set it up as generic as possible than to save a base copy, then input data for each build separately. Do the work once and then as long as turbine/ssg don't introduce new mechanics you never have to do the bulk work again.

Super nice man-NOT   whats the idea here it calculates the difference between 1d6 and 2d6?

Let's say someone is retarded enough to not be able to compare weapons with basic vision how would they be able to edit your redundant excelt spreadsheet.

Thanks.  Unfortunately the forum post that site is based on is from December 2016, and uses information from tests done eight years ago.
