But yeah, it is rare when they compile and publish code that they don't re-introduce the old, broken code that brings back some bug again. Then, they have to re-publish that bugfix. They have no version control nor code protection mechanisms.

Like someone goes back and edits a class that affects a ton of shit they didn't understand was dependent...
