It seems to deactivate at times. I haven't figured out a pattern. Any ideas why/when it falls off?

Because Turbine.

Legendary Braided Cutcord seems to disappear the icon on the buff bar.  I wasn't motivated enough to test whether or not it is just a visual glitch or it is actually removing the SA damage bonuses, too.

If you first log in with the Legendary Braided Cutcord equipped, the Scion buff shows in the buff bar.  Swap to a different belt, then back to Legendary Braided Cutcord and *poof* goes the buff icon.

No idea what the conflict might be though.  Maybe Silent Avenger set bonus or something?

It's the blurry effect on the belt.

Represents the drunken-ass coding.

They used up and passed drunk as an excuse years ago.  At this point, about all they've got left is a dinosaur eating their keyboard mid-compile.

Great. No more 60 minute shield clicky.  Sad

I should probably expand... on that. The icon in the buff bar from the scion of the ethereal plane is from the permanent blur granted by it. I believe gnome and deep gnome enhancements do the same thing, but with a different icon. Effects in DDO will suppress the icons for other effects that they override. Both the scion blur and belt blur have the same quantity of effect and both are permanent, but the belt was given a higher priority. Because it has a higher priority, it removes the ethereal icon. You still have the same amount of blurry miss chance. The other bonuses from scion should be unaffected, but I haven't tested that.

That being said, there is a newbie fiddling around with things it doesn't understand. I wouldn't be too surprised if the belt does remove the sneak attack damage.

The mabar robe is a great alternative to the shield belt, since the outfit shouldn't be involved in this.

Tested it out last night. Losing the icon by swapping the belt did not affect SA numbers. I'll have to pay more attention the next time my SA numbers drop off.
