Best Heroic Zerg Melee Builds?

Been going through a bunch of lives and just looking to change it up and burn through some more on some melee builds..

Just looking for some high speed melee builds. Played a handful of q-staff builds outside of my normal lives, but just looking for some other options if anyone has some recommendations.

Race can be any. If human you can get the extra feat to bring some feats faster or to get precision down the line. If halfling you can use the racial sneak attack and dodge bonus...

You can have ~100% dodge for about 20 to 30 secs with water stance.

You get very high doublestrike with quick-strikes and wind stance.

You can get GmoF twists to improve those two stances if you want.

There is nothing wrong with barbarian.  Fast and loose.  Run speed is imo key to fast heroics.  We are always running, whether in or out of quest.  Wolf/Barbara always comes to mind.  But aoe on melee is also important.  Cleave, cleave again, and more cleave.  Bard/barbarian is something I've been wanting to run in heroics for speed also.

It is also hard to pass up trapping just for the trap bonus in quests.  Nothing wrong with extra xp and capping doing less quests. 

15bard/3barbarian/2rogue. Probably a crap idea.  Not really my wheelhouse.  But I do like barbarian speed.

Nothing, and I mean nothing is more powerful on a melee in heroics than Barbarian's Blood Tribute.

150 temp hp on demand with a super short cooldown single handedly makes soloing r3 a cakewalk through early to mid heroics.

Pro tip- don't give a fuck about the con penalty, it really doesn't matter. What 30 con at level 3 when raging? 4500 temp hp per shrine at level 3 lol. Mix at least 2 levels of barb onto any melee build and be invulnerable.

Lol yea, not opposed to different builds to give a try though.

I was thinking about whipping up a warchanter like you mentioned, just wasnt sure how viable it would be. Been trying to theory craft some barb splashes just for the extra speed, just havent been able to iron anything out myself.

Just looking for some high speed melee builds. Played a handful of q-staff builds outside of my normal lives, but just looking for some other options if anyone has some recommendations.



As with everything in DDO, a long term view is best.

Paladin past lives = Healing amplification
Ranger past lives = Ranged damage
Barbarian past lives = More HP
Rogue past lives = Trap saves and Sneak damage
Monk = Melee Damage

I like hamp, so I'd recommend Paladin lives first.  That assumes that you're running in a group, which you should do anyway.

Of course, combining with iconics makes for a whole new gestalt, but that is out of the discussion since iconics go to 30 and the OP asked for heroic melees.

Add 1 Barb.  Done.  I used to do this years ago in a static group where we would run quests as fast as possible, trying to beat our previous fastest completion times.  It helped to keep the game fresh for us.  Also, one of us would always be human for the dragonmark if we didn't have an arcane so we always had dim door available.

STR based Tempest is the most fun I've had leveling up in a long ass time.  The beacons from Rage 1+4 made levels 14-20 a breeze.

The AC epic past life feat are more important than you might realize.........it's the AC that breaks you in higher heroics.      Some def don't matter,. A little spot goes a long ways.....30 boost and not die.

Yea, I'm probably just overthinking it and trying to make a build with too much flavor. Tempest w/ Barb and Warchanter w/ Barb were two I was considering to mix things up.

Is it even worth the bother of slowing down for trapping bonuses for heroic zerging? I did TR completionist always having trapping flexibility in my builds, but wonder if it's even worth it at this point going through racials and focusing purely on speed..

Why the heck would you ever add 6 fighter to barbie ?
Blood Tribute + Blood strength ( not necessarily con build ) is like the easiest point and click heroic melee ever.
Never even close to dying and not single hjealing item used ever. Plus we have like 90+ ac in gh so you dont get hit either way in heroics.

In heroics it's an absolute blast and completely a viable build to solo low reaper with.  Not sure if it's something I'd take into epics but, again, lots of fun to play in heroics.
  

Turbine policy - glitches and poor coding resulting in interference of your game play or enjoyment will be ignored.  Glitches or poor coding on the developers side that at all benefit your game play or enjoyment will result in your character being banned and/or items from your inventory deleted.  Please report all bugs via our bug report...when it works.

What split did you roll with? r3-r4 capable? Mainly what I've been running lately.

Was just a simple 2 barb/18 rogue split to give myself the speed boost and power attack - I'm sure you could get way more damage out of it with 6 or so monk levels.

But I was mostly just playing around with the rogue class since I'd never really played one yet, so I kept it simple.

Soloed R1 easily all through heroics with I think only 10 reaper points at the time.  A decent toon should be able to solo slightly higher or run mid reaper in a group.
