Going to say something I never imagined I would say before 2 minutes.   Blaming Lynabell and Steelstar for the current state of loot and systems is kind of like blaming you cousin Susie for the fall of the Klingon Empire in Star Wars. 

Decisions made by the Game Developers when Lynabell was still in diapers are causing more issues for the players and development team than anything the current systems teams could dream up.   That doesn't even begin to mention the fucked up shit Feather did or the massive amounts of power creep Noworries introduced to the game.

The moment the level cap was pulled from Feywild the loot was fucked.  The design space was full without an increase in power level.  Players were never going to accept a third set of Ravenloft Gear, like we got with Sharn.  That's not Lynn's issue, ignoring ideas from both members of the Player's Council and ones presented by players on the forums sealed it.   Many of those ideas that didn't involve power creep were interesting and could have played well in that space.      Other than believing someone was calling your baby ugly, there was no reason not to take that advice and change the loot.    

Steelstar is plagued by the fact he might be the most knowledgeable person in the room when it comes to DDO's systems; it is too bad that knowledge doesn't include the wisdom of how those systems are used by the player base.   See bow combat.  What a steaming pile.   The hubris in ignoring the player's council for months and the players over a month of Lamannia releases leads to unused system that isn't worth two nickel let alone two months of development time.   But WTF Strimtom thinks it's awesome change.
