I wish I could test this out for you, but I just TR'd back down to scrub.  I can tell that from what I've seen from the Bitter Edge, they're quite similar...

...but with maybe a less reliable proc rate, and perhaps yes to the helpless damage...

...but that could be skewed from that nerf scam à la doublestrike shit sandwich the Cholera Cafe served up w/ U49.

On the Bitterstar, I saw it proc only once in the last DandD I ran.
