You found an error *clap*
Did you learn anything? As far as i can tell no. So when you have learned something come back and tell me so i know you brain is capable of thinking.
I learned that as usual, utilizing a class' potential to it's fullest is still overlooked by most of the playerbase. Hence most of the posted monk builds not relying on finishing moves. To me a monk is just like playing a caster. You have to hit more than two or three buttons or your not playing at 100%. Relying on pure DPS only is kind of a waste for the class. It's more about cycling through SF and appropriate finshers/attacks so they are always off coolddown when needed.
From the links you gave: I'm going to break down 2 different play styles, and these are the play styles I feel are the only ones viable at the end-game and epic level. The two play styles (in no significant order) are:
The all out DPS Monk (STR Based, Dark Path)
(Where's the advice about Wis and finishing moves?)The Support Monk (STR or DEX Based, Light Path)
Is this the beginner playstyle for a Dark Monk? If you're not using finishing moves, you need to be on a simple no-brain Barb, not a Monk.+22 STR: 12 + 2 tome + 6 item + 1 litany + 1 exceptional
(my 94 year old grandmother hits harder)32 DEX: 16 + 2 tome + 2 enhancement + 7 item + 1 litany + 4 wind stance (+2 yug pot=34)
20 CON: 14 + 1 tome + 6 item + 1 litany- 2 wind stance
(gimped hit points)14 INT: 12 base + 1 tome + 1 litany
34 WIS: 16 + 2 tome + 5 levels + 1 exceptional + 6 item + 3 enhancement + 1 litany (+2 yug pot=36)
( Slightly too much Wisdom unless is an AC build ( which is useless for my playstyle) 11 CHA: 8 base + 2 tome + 1 litany
That's more than one error in advice for the build/playstyle I use.
