The guides you posted have nothing to do with a Human, Dark Path , Str/Wis monk.   Rockna's hafling Monk build is great for a high AC DEX build ( which mine isn't LOL). The other guide isn't accurate enough since the TWF changes, and it totally disregards Dark Path finishers which isn't optimization in any shape or form for a Dark Path monk.

Besides, you don't even play a monk, so what do you know about it ?

/fail

1) if you want DCs then you need them to be 40+ at level 20
2) if you are not intent on DCs then why bother bumping your wisdom
3) it is a choice between STR and WIS
4) optimizers ALWAYS choose a stat line and max it out
5) Monks are a MaD class you have to choose and not choosing is fail

I have started playing monks and i am testing out both builds.

The WF Str Monk is a beast.

The Halfling Monk i have not tested it out as much as i have two other toons that are similar in so i know what i will be getting.

The guides i have posted have everything to do with Human Monk Dark Path you just start with slightly odd stats.

You sound new to the game so i will let you figure it out. DnD 3.5 optimising is all about choosing a direction and maxxing it in whatever way you can.

Most Dark Path Str Monks us Fire Stance all the to get to a Str of 40+

Most Dark Path Wis monks use Wind stance to keep their Dex up so they can hit things.

It is really not that hard to understand.

Aranticus was giving you good info but you ignored him so you fail

1) 30 Wis =  40 DC w/o Ocean Stance

Aranticus gave good info yes. His advice wasn't ignored either as I had based my calculations on that when I created my Monk immediately after they were released. He was shelved as a mule up until the anticipated fix for weighted wraps.

As far as being new to the game, hardly so.  Unless having played over 5000 hours in 3 years 10 months is new.

Yet again, you fail to exhibit any knowledge whatsoever about Monks as the preferred setup for using finishing moves AND breaking DR is a Wis/Str type Dark Monk.  Unless you're going for a high AC type like Rockna's, any other setup is a waste of potential. (Pure Str type Monks suck as they add nothing additional, and can't compete with a real DPS build anyhow.)

Most Dark Path Str/Wis monks use Wind stance to keep their attack/proc rate at maximum, outpacing Fire stance users by almost 1.5 to 1 in number of strikes while being able to SUCESSFULLY land finishing moves. In addition, they achieve higher DPS than DEX builds by a good margin due to their higher STR stat.

Fixed that for you.

I'm beginning to think that the Monk class may be too complicated for you to comprehend.  Stick to Barbs, they are much easier to play.

This is the Vault !!!  Any thread without insults is trash.

Here's a good post for you to look at, however, all BS aside:

Also, for what's it's worth the 1st TR version of my monk will have higher Str and both stunning blow / stunning fist feats.

TR 36point builds is a long way away.

What is irritating is that you used MyDDO as a tool for discussing builds, i cannot think of a worse starting point.

Trying to get the best of all worlds is what gimps most builds.

Be the best at what you want to do?

If it is Dark DCs then you have two main issues, how to boost your DCs as high as possible and the other is your BAB which is often Dex orientated.

Str builds will always find it difficult to get the best DCs for Dark Debuffs so aiming for it is depressing because it requires WORK!

I do not play DDO to work, i play to have fun.

LOL, right on.   Well, my current build does require +4 tomes ( Str & Wis minimum ) , Litany and both TOD rings to be  highly effective.  The thing is, it's the only character I've had the desire to grind out and TR repeated times actually.  My arcane was fun for awhile, but the long wait for mod 9 burned me out on it.( I didn't even TR it into a WF as I had planned all along. haha)  My divine caster is built for guild/friend/solo runs ( pug's 5%) and [edited for Vault denizens] in the Lobster, she works great as is for those purposes and any extra items she gets are, well just extra.

The purpose of my original post was to decide what to use in my:
Boots slot :  Epic Firestorm Greaves ??GS guard or hp ?
Head slot :   Minos is ok for my other characters, but wouldn't something else be better here? GS hp or immuno ?

I probably should've just asked it simply before, but then we would have been bored all day, and to be honest, I'm an asshole.
( I know I would've been, I'm still at work for three more days and everything is going too smoothly here. Sad    )

Ah, gotcha.

But to be clear, there are no unofficial rules, there are just things that the community rejects.  Like improper spelling of the word doosh.
