So I realize that asking for input on the vault is sometimes less than useful, but here goes:


I have a gimp 2nd life human PM that I don’t really want to put more
lives into, as leveling really isn’t as fun for me as raiding/farming. 

I do realize that this creates limitations, particularly with AP, spell pen, etc.


What I would like is a bit of input on gearing progression.  Presume I
can farm/craft anything if absolutely need be, but would prefer to go
after “low hanging fruit” and make due with being decent.
(yet keep things open to bridge into uberness if I decide to put in more work)

Not required, but if you're in Ascension Chamber already you want to pick up Noxious Embers for the Maximize clicky.  Saves a ton of mana when you're in nuke mode on a raid boss.

Epic Ring of the Mire is great when you want to Torc up.  Consider crafting a Greater Necromany Focus ring with a guild slot to use full time, and wear the Epic Diabolist Robe.  With the Litany (or a tome upgrade) that's +1 DC to all your spells.

Here's my gearout on Malshier. I like this setup and I feel it's almost complete for the way I play my PM (poorly)

Helm: Min 2 SP
Neck: Epic Torc
Trinket: T3 Spyglass slotted with -15% ASF (for hound shield)
Cloak: Epic Mirror
Belt: PM belt
Ring1: Epic Elemental Essence
Gloves: HP Conc Opp
Boots: Cannith Propulsion (will swap to crafted jump/ff boots with large guild slot when I get my PM ring)
Ring2: +6 int with large guild slot placeholder. Will be PM ring with +2 exceptional CON
Bracers: Epic Demon Consort slotted with GFL and Con 6
Robe: Epic Diabolist which will be slotted with toughness when I stop being lazy.
Goggles: Epic Spirit Sight slotted with +1 exceptional INT
Weapon: Epic Staff of Arcane Power

I weapon swap to cove dagger + hound shield + Epic Shadow Robe if I'll be tanking. Biggest downside to this gearout is I don't have superior nullification, which is why I want the PM ring. Epic Darkstorm might be a good place holder, but I don't want to slot fort elsewhere to take off my min 2 hat while drinking yugo pots.


Then I re-read your post and realized you wanted low hanging fruit gear. So nevermind. I'll just use this post to brag about my uber gears.

Nullification is an issue right now, but once I get my PM ring I'll be fine. I swap to my Epic Shadow robe to pop my aura when I go into form, and then use the PM belt clickies to burst.

Also have the dweller when I'm nuking, and the robe is a quick swap if I REALLY need it.

I spend my money on haste pots, not nullification pots :p

Lol yeah, the only thing I'd really chase atm is the litany and lob spirits.  (was "this close" to exquisite fire last night)

I also kinda wanted all the potencies and lores on static items in addition to clikies to handle "outages".

But Tobril I would absolutely suggest getting a spyglass. Blue slot in a trinket with +2 exceptional INT is nice. Could open up some other gearing opportunities. Plus it's still BTA at tier 3.

I mainly can tell the difference in abbot and for death aura.  Like you say though sometimes I forget to renew a click or simply have to fire an "off the hip" disintegrate or something.


Also, lob really isn't that bad.  The real problem is that the people who can do epic have massive egos and strange grudges against each other so getting a group going can be challenging. 

The few normal pugs that happen are fail-trains that end up drinking a million pots and making main forum posts that embarrass the hell out of our server.

Concept still stands, I’m trying to be a god little caster and
spit out as much damage as possible when needed.

What actually tends to happen is “oh yeah the clikie”
when the monster is almost dead.

Could have sworn my lifeshield proced on my PM. I guess I have plenty of other sources of temp HP proc, so I never noticed.
