Well, I don't know about other things but while skimming the new files in the lama client I noticed another new addition to the ddo store - not sure if it's enabled already or you'll get it in future but it will enrage/make happy quite a lot of people. So advert time Cheesy Turbine presents - in their famous "pay 2 win" series - a new item: "Raid Timer Bypass Hourglass"!
"This item allows you to bypass the special 3 day timer that prevents reentry into a successfully completed raid.  Once used, this item will allow you to reacquire any one raid quest before the reentry timer has finished counting down.\n\nIf you are on a timer, the quest giver will not bestow the quest until you use this item.  This item is good for one raid timer bypass only."

So wheres the rage now? Instead of getting rid of the now obsolete raid timers for years old raids they monetize the process.

Lately, it seems they really started to listen to players, only to charge incredible amounts of money later. Somehow, it really makes me wish for them to stop listening...

I'm not sure why people wouldn't stop playing the game en masse if that were to happen.

Next step is to just start selling the raid loot in teh store.

How much do you think they'd charge for a torc?

I doubt they'd sell raid loot in the store.  Not from any gaming moral reasons, more from the point of view that the pack the loot comes from becomes redundent to purchase if you can just buy the loot you need.

Given the reaction to the new raid, I imagine there would be plenty of people who would just buy the coms they need (Or a peice of specific loot if any appeals to them) rather than go through the hassle of that grind.

This might take a while. I remember it took several months after "store version" +3 tomes were added to client before they appeared in store.

What new raid ?
The hour and a half long ressource hog, run here, run there, bash a few things, play tag with a flying hand, get tossed here and there by falling crab legs [and killed in the process if you fall off...thus making it a more bigger ressource hog ], drag the Coyle in Dress along stupidity that shouldn't even be named a quest ?

Done it once.
Not willing to do it again. No point, items sucks big time, precious ressources are drained for nothing, and last it takes too long.

Turbine should know that by now... Come on it's not as if the Cannith Raids are run regularly anymore, or Titan, it just takes too long to get there. People want short raids, that can be accessed directly from a public area. Even Kween is annoying people because of the need to redo ADQ1 everytime. ( and thus run through the fucking desert )

I'm not saying a way to circumvent the 3 day timer for completely outdated boring chore raids, like dq has become is a bad thing. I just fucking hate that they are going to sell it in the store. People can run normal dq solo, blind and naked now, the entry barrier should have been long gone, or at least shortened somewhat so we can't run it back to back.

All this should have been changed with a patch, yet they go for the cheap moneygrab tactics again. :/

Yes, it's a raid easy to reach ( after they changed it originally you had to find in in the Demonweb ).
But it's still an hour and a half ressource hog for nothing interesting.

There's 5 categories of raids :
- Those with interesting loot that are run whatever the nuisances ( VON, Queen ).
- Those with semi interesting loot that are run until you get the piece of loot you want  ( Reaver, SoS, VoD, Hound, Chronoscope )
- Those you run once, to have them done ( Titan, LoB, MA, Web )
- Those you keep running for fun  ( Tempest Spine )
- Those you keep running because you have to grind it ( Shroud ).

So beside the first category and the last two, there's not much appeal to run over and over and over again all the other raids. ( ok, LoB and MA can eventually move into the 'until you have the piece of loot you want' category )

My only real complaint with the raid was Lolth's hitbox being too small.  Had to get everyone tiptoeing on the edge looking for the one spot where you were actually making contact.  So it becomes very hard to tell who's curse is actually floating over the group so you chug another curse pot or jump to check and risk sliding out of the 'hit zone'

And I still don't get everyone's problem with running through the demonweb even if the entrance was demonweb only.

This is a good idea, more VIP fluff is fine (how about free armor and hair kits, hmm?), but like I said, substantive shit should be available to all.

If VIPs got +10% stacking run speed in quests, I'd flip my fucking lid.

In town, I'm happy to give them a little perk.

In a special category : those you find too bothersome to flag to even run.
The raid is a pita, the flagging is a pita.

Not technically... Turbine can find a way to weasel out of anything.

I expect them to eventually sell a token which can be exchanged at a "raid trader" for a selection from a raid 20th list. Still not technically selling raid loot

Not really you're still subject to the Raid Chest Loot Lottery. It can still take you an indecent number of runs to finally loot the item you want.

Now if they sold a token that gets you a *full* list of raid loot on a 20th I'd probably buy it. I'd have to go out and personally kill a kitten afterwards, but I'd buy it.

I've decided I don't mind raid timer bypassers if they're like 30 dollars a piece. That's like 600 dollars for a 20th timer. If someone wants the raid loot that bad they almost deserve to have it.

Not sure if you are trolling or if its real (dont care much either way), but thought I would throw it out there

PS I love necroing.  Never got the point that a thread should die if the OP is relevant.
