I propose this year's new nickname for Mabar (in the vein of "Maban") should be "Miser-abar".  I originally intended that to play on "miserable", but given the low drop rates this year, it could also be "miserly".

Whatcha reading?

The Gods of Mars, #2 in the Martian series by Edgar Rice Burroughs.  It's not high literature, but it's good fun.

WTF?!

Let's see devs, you have to have INGS to lower the count and get into the Dragon. In order to have INGS, you need what again? Oh mobs? And in order to get mobs you need what??

Spell it with me:

S--P--A--W--N--S

Yay!

They should blame their parents.

A half-dozen boss Vaulties donated generously with real money to my classroom during a fundraiser in May 2015 to get poor kids books to read. I won't forget that. They know who they are, and they freaking rule.

Yup, and the easy workaround is to switch instance.
The not fun part is when it happens and there's only one instance.

I still stand by Fubar. Even with the Hotfux it's still fubar : scales not given, lagathon ( worse than usual ), fucked up instances, retarded drop rates... so retarded that it takes several hours at peak time to open the dragon.

Honestly, I'm starting to wonder how much more fucked up is the Cove... and if we haven't been fooled into thinking the Cove was really broken.

It sucks to hear about this kind of stuff.

I was in the summoning chamber 4 times yesterday.  Completed all of them with little to no lag.  4th run (about 11pm US Eastern) had a bit of lag.  Seems the turn ins are slow for the first 12-13k but once it gets below about 7k, it starts to drop crazy fast.

I did notice that I get dumped in the wrong instance on exiting the summoning chamber.  But that's not a big deal.  I've not experienced the instance bug mentioned in about 15 hours in the graveryard over the last 3 days.

I've not run Mabar in the past but I made a set of level 24 wraps from the ground up and a level 24 cloak.  I'm about done with it, I think, but it was an OK event.

I wouldn't mind seeing a quest/raid using summoning chamber kind of mechanics. Big map.  Need coordination and toons in several places simultaneously so that everyone has a job that matters.

One of my guildies said the dragon runs are going fine in the epic levels, but waiting 2 hours for the chamber to open, 10 minutes for the dragon to appear only to have it die in 5 seconds sucks. Not the dying so quick, but the waiting.

I haven't set foot in Mabar and I likely won't. All the extra lag it's causing me in the rest of the game fucking sucks.

It only takes ten minutes for the dragon to appear because people are too busy giving their colons a visual inspection.  JUST CLICK THE FUCKING ALTAR

Luckily I have 4 scales from last time this was up.  I just need some motes and a few Lich dusts to up a few items to 24 and I'm out.

I jumped in one chamber almost as soon as it opened. People got the altars all clicked, we got the instance will close/dragon will appear soon message. Which was a lie. We waited while the 10 minute countdown completed anyway. Happened every time after that, too. Clicking the altars does not speed up the countdown in any way. Because fuck you.

It's all the fun of waiting for people to get into the Shroud, without any way of shortening it!

You all spend away to much time worrying about this crap.  With Epochs guide to mabar farming, you spend little time there and getting everything accomplished.

Prepping all four altars on Orien has zero effect on speeding up the 10 minutes waiting on the dragon.

Did a new 16 cloak and finished a 16->20 cloak upgrade.  Turbine got 7$ out of me for Coffee for farming with my cleric.  First money I've spent in a while and well worth it.  Now, back to not playing their buggy garbage and on to BL2.

And it has the added bonus that pretty much everything he ever wrote is available electronically through project Gutenberg, since it's all out of copyright.

For the non readers out there, he wrote the Tarzan books, the Barsoom books (John carter of mars being the most recent movie adaption), and Pellucidar (Hollow earth stories), to name a few.
