hilighted the only error in your statement. im hardly a turbine apologist. Broken DDO is still better than flawless guildwars... except the capes and the dancing

I am with Jonny in that.
It is D&D. Sure, a lot of changes, broken, donowhat, still, it is D&D.

I have decided that I'm willing to forego D&D to play a game that isn't broken every time something is released.

I think too many people spend way too much time focused on what is broken rather than what is working.  In DDO, how many of the 250-260 some quests are broken currently?  Sure probably 30-40 of them are ones I hate running because I don't like them (U15 Druids, Necro III, Proof is in the Poison, Titan Raid, Small Problem, CiTW raid, Protect Coyle Quest, most of 3BC for example) But mostly those aren't broken.  They just don't appeal to me.

Things like ladder bugs are fun to mock, but there's not a bug out there that I look at and say "That makes me not want to play the game".  Lag is the only thing that bothers me, and even that hasn't been all that bad in the last couple weeks.  The LFM panel and channels have plenty of stuff going on, so if concurrent logins is down, it's not showing in available options for grouping.

I agree with previous posters.  DDO gives me my D&D fix.  I didn't play MMO's before DDO and I don't feel the desire to play one Gremlins and Thundercats (Or Asura and Charr...whatever).  Regardless of how bug-free and lag-free it is.

The GW2 Halloween event is a lot of fun.  I like to make my character eat candy corn until she barfs.

yanno what else sucks about ddo? every other day a 4-6 hour downtime for a hotfix or maintenence. enjoy another 6 hour downtime to reboot servers Tongue gw2 downtime is as long as it takes you to d/l files.

that being said, I agree ddo is more akin to d&d, sadly its like playing pnp with a stupid inbred gm. sure you can call it dnd, but everyone knows its not really.

I must be lucky in that the 3-8 hrs a day i play, hardly ever have down time that effects my play time ...once a month maybe, rarely experience lag that causes failures (1 episode a month would be exaggeration). The quests themselves are generally good and the new random loot is awesome. making unique builds is at an all time high with epic destinies... Its not perfect by a long shot but it feels very DnD to me  Smiley

yanno what else sucks about gw2? every other day they make you download midget tranny porn(that's for Infi) and customer support sends out world wide announcments telling everyone to fuck off.   Tongue

Is that how it works?  Say something totally assinine and then put an emoticon behind it so everyone knows you can't be held accountable?

Wait - what?

You're sending mixed messages - is the mandatory midget tranny porn for real or not?

Herpaderp yes or no, the "semi" in "semi-coherent" is misleading. It makes you think you should be able to understand something, from time to time.
