Ink:

I never got the $39,000,000 Nigerian Lottery winnings you guys said I won.  I need the $7,000 tax advance back now please...  The banking account wire I gave you guys is still active.

One thing for everyone who is a "skeptic" on this issue: Insurance companies are basing their underwriting on the assumption that it is real. They are refusing to write policies on homes that are likely to be in danger from rising seas 20 years from now, even though the resale rate of the homes is so high that they could keep writing policies for another 10 years and still not have to pay out on 1 policy in 5, but that would be irresponsible. Unethical, as well, but that's never stopped anyone before.

There was some difficulty with the paperwork.  Better send another $7k so I can grease the wheels of bureaucracy.

Well there's reasons to have a hard on...

Even the DNS failure didn't bring that many people here.

If only we had a monetization scheme.  Besides the $7k of paperwork fees for the lottery winnings, of course.

I think part of it is a building level of frustration. I've visited this site occasionally over the years, but only signed up when I had finally just had enough and the broken "new posts" was the final straw.

Frustration is a big bucket with a slow leak, and Turbine has been dumping in a lot of water in a short amount of time and it doesn't have time to drain away. I think for many people that bucket is full or nearly so.

I don't know about monetizing, but a large membership will certainly lend weight to the complaints voiced here. I think there are many threads here with more page views than half the threads on the official forums, I'd be surprised if that fact escaped Turbine's notice.

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

FFS, were you born yesterday, or did you fall off the short bus on your way back from Sarlona? Based on the past few updates including the so-called "expansion", I'd be shocked if anything said or thought by long term and active players were to act as any form of wake-up call for Turbine.

They know what is best for the game, after all. They hire quality, high performing systems people who know how to build stability, reward, fun, and a sense of progress into the game.

Note to any Turbine staffers reading this, and one I genuinely hope you share around the office: DDO has become a shit game because y'all have made it a shit game. Once it was great. Now, it's a festering puddle of monkey diarrhea. No matter how you try to justify it, or pat yourselves on the back for doing great jobs... it's a shit game now because of you. Y'all keep on giving the players the middle finger, and you keep expecting us to reward you for the abuse. I've had it with you narcissistic fuckwads and your myopic policies of ineptitude.

Dear Guests:

wholetthisidiotin usually waits until threads are dead for 6-27 months before responding to them.  Feel free to stay.  This was an anomaly.

Wow, how did you know I play on Sarlona?! You're AMAZING!! Cheesy

But I agree with you, I don't think Turbine feels it has to worry about the unhappy long term serious gamers because 1) they are a small population and 2) they have a lot invested in the game so it will take a much larger slap to drive them away. The wakeup comes when their more "vulnerable" customers start visiting this site, one critical of their choices and which they can't control.

OK, that and Captain Obvious standing outside their window with a megaphone.
