That's not how it works.   If you get sentenced to death, you die... doesn't matter how many ropes it takes.

Quote:
In Louisiana, in 1946, an electrical failure resulted in a prisoner surviving the first attempt. His attorney appealed to the US Supreme Court, contending that Louisiana could not attempt to kill him twice, on the grounds that it would be double jeopardy to punish him twice for the same crime. The supreme court noted that the punishment was for electricity to be passed through his body until he was dead, and since he was not dead, the execution was not completed. His appeal failed, and he was executed in the same electric chair one year later.

I was going to do the turbine forum favorite of giving you a bad analogy since that's how you guys seem to communicate. But then, no one argues with the special needs people. So im being nice to you.

And, who you kidding? You were done here from the start.

Okay fine. If you geniuses are all so smart, explain to us retards how and why cheating is good and bannings are wrong. What is it about your idiotic whining we're missing that somehow justifies your idiotic actions?

No one here has said that cheating is good and that temp bans are bad (although there are some people who are confused and think that taking away the loot that you got from duping is actually punishment).  What people are saying (and I agree with them) is that Turbine needs to actually have some consistency and predictability in their disciplinary actions.  Going to have a 2 week ban?  That's fine.  Make it a 2 week ban.  Going to have a 4 week ban?  That's fine too.  Make it a 4 week ban.  Don't make a 2 week ban and then change it to a 4 week ban because you can't get your shit together on deleting duped items.  Don't take away a game feature (a really important game feature for some people) just because you fucked up on deleting duped items.  Don't take away Tokens of the Twelve from everyone who didn't dupe just because exploiters duped them.

Look for DDO Peek in your smartphone apps.  There is a free app and one for 99 cents, the paid app gives you much more info such as "last update date" which tells when your characters were last logged in.  Then search by char name and server Smiley

See, now that's a reasonable response with many excellent points being made.

The flip side of course is that folks can't have it both ways.  Are Turbine a bunch of retards, or not?  If they're retarded, don't expect consistency and predictability in anything they do, least of all when they are under pressure.

And then there is the elephant in the room.  Being caught by folks that are being called (and seemingly are) retards.  Embarrasing, no?  It's like getting busted by the keystone cops.

Ah well, at least the drama has been top-notch.

those people who did survive the hangings I think their necks didnt break and they passed out and where thought dead then they where taken away, and came to? But if the rope broke and the condemned where still alive they would definately rehang them till they where dead, cause isn't the sentence hang from the neck till dead?

Not sure when this was but I'm 90% sure there was a supreme court case in the US where it was declared that if someone survived the first execution,  it's cruel and unusual punishment to try again and they are then basically given life in prison with no chance for release.

Nope.  There was a Supreme Court decision, but it went the other way.  An execution failed and after he went before the SCotUS, he was executed "again".

Do you remember the name of the case by any chance?  I would like to read up on it and refresh my memory, it's been almost 20 years since my last history class, and apparently my memory of things is getting rusty.
