Ya, 3 Orieners on the list, R aka Backley, Untitled & Micki aka Thazara.

Wonder about all the rest.

Hope Turbine starts communicating more now(like 10 Dev posts a day bare minimum on various topics).

I'm a cynical optimist...Sigh.

I wonder if I've seen them in-game.

I wonder if the only happy, dedicated, disciplined people only guy is in that list.

Thaz is a great cleric player.. shes delved into a few other classes now too.. some people dont like her, because of her "do it my way, because i know it works" sort of way.. i personally havnt had any issues with her, ^-^

And that's what makes Whitewind awesome. Ww won't scold you for jumping into lava. He'd laugh, jump right in with you, HEAL you, and you both live to tell the tale.

WIN decision for Turbine for not taking Stoddard. For that alone, I have hope.

Some of the names I don't know, but that was expected with their "representative" selection process...

During my stint on ML, Backley always presented rationale arguments, was knowledgeable about the game, and in-tune with reality. (aka the complete opposite of Hendick who was a total dev ass kisser) Plus he released a greasemonkey script to "fix" the myDDO lottos before Turbine finally killed it off. Not that any of you care about my opinion, but I think he's a good pick.

Complete contrast with this MugginsMai character that only showed up on the mother forums to be in the PC and drop one doosy of an troll bait intro:

Agreed. I'm happy that R (Backley) is there. He used to make little info posts in his bio when he parks his toons in various places (to keep said instances from resetting).

It's interesting to know that he was in ML.

Are we supposed to know that?

It looks like about 5 or 6 are from ML. None of them ever kicked up a real fuss at any of the truly crazy ideas Turbine were going to introduce (kicking up a real fuss was the most common way of getting booted - along with never participating in anything).

If polite disagreement didnt sway Turbine on ML, I cant imagine it working on the council either.

I dont see any names on that list that have me thinking "yep, the future of the game is assured".

The Player's Council is not an assurance of anything.

Turbine said they would listen to the council - not do anything about what they say. It's a pretty huge loophole in their player's council masterplan.

Council talks. Turbine listens. And that may be the end of it.

I think if we found a way to make money off every bug we find in the game, things would start to happen.

Players Council, these the people we all get to hate when shitty decisions happen.

Higg - people would get angry with ML, but deep down most knew that it was always Turbine's fault, not the MLers fault.

I guess the same will happen with the council. They may be an easy target but I cant imagine they will sway Turbine too much - Devs never like being told by peons that their ideas suck.

Are you suggesting that the Players' Council is just going to be a meatshield to protect the Community Manager and Turbine staff?!

That seems like an awesome idea.

+1 to the Community Manager for thinking of a way for damage mitigation when they screw up big time.

Hey Flav,

Would be lovely if the council members got together and posted in a single thread of introductions. Hopefully without too much pissing and moaning from everyone else, so we can actually read them. Smiley

Just a suggestion

If nobody has done it by the time I wake up and reach work I'll do it. For now It's bed time.

Not sure we are going to keep being a meatshield long if there's flack flying low.

Now I have to admit that it's not my preferred solution, shouting at things/people is more... well more... well better from my point of view.  Roll Eyes

I just hope Wayfinder is well represented...  And PVP.    Maybe jail rapists too.

One thing for everyone who is a "skeptic" on this issue: Insurance companies are basing their underwriting on the assumption that it is real. They are refusing to write policies on homes that are likely to be in danger from rising seas 20 years from now, even though the resale rate of the homes is so high that they could keep writing policies for another 10 years and still not have to pay out on 1 policy in 5, but that would be irresponsible. Unethical, as well, but that's never stopped anyone before.

Absolutely!  MugginsMai is the gift that keeps on giving!   there has got to be another one or two gold nuggets in that pile of shit.

Kwijibo is a hardcore player in my guild, and one of the best players on Argo. Should represent the active, knowledgable, non-retarded, raiding, EE, endgame crowd well. He is also strongly anti-exploits, FWIW.
