If Flav has really some saying, I expect some Nuclear Power plants in Stormreach in the future. Maybe in the Cerulean Hills, Talloak´s dam seems like the perfect location. And you can put the orcs to work there, they have anyway a short life expectancy.

Vault Frog FTW!

p.s. I prefer Kobold workers instead of orcs. They're much more fun.

I thought in that context some say was the correct way to say that. In stead of some saying.

Iv'e heard the term used that way but only as say, not saying, for example, like if he has any say in the matter. "If he had any say in the matter this would happen".

Never heard it said that way, with saying, "If he has any saying this is what might happen", for example, but because I have never heard or seen it doesn't mean its incorrect. It did seem odd to me though. Thank you, you learn something new every day I guess.

I thought saying was like a proverb, or of course what the word itself means for example. "That's not what i'm saying"!!.

Quotation marks at appropriate points would have made that whole response of yours infinitely easier to read, but you are correct: "some say in (the matter)" is indeed the correct usage in English.

ESL is such a broad term and taught in so many different ways that there's no reason why a non-standard idiomatic usage like "has some saying" would be recognised by a native speaker of English.  Chances are, it wouldn't be recognised by someone who had taken ESL classes in another region  Wink

Thanks I read my response and it just confused me more lol. Anyway now im feeling even more confused, looked up saying in the dictionary and the thesaurus haven't really seen anything about using it that way, say yes saying no, but it could be me missing something. *shrug*.

ESL= what? English as a second language?

Yup.

I tend to agree that it's bad form to rag on someone for poor English in a forum (although as far as I'm concerned, pointing out when someone has said something either genuinely incomprehensible or the opposite of their apparent intent is fair game), but I am tempted to start a thread in Off-Topic for non-native English speakers - or those who just want to improve or are generally interested in the language - to ask questions about usage.

Who knows, maybe Chai will drop by and learn that "time sync" does not mean what he thinks it means  Wink

In this instance non native English speaker might even have advantage over "correct speaker".
Because we eventually make same mistakes, so even incorrect usage of a word makes sense in context.

It's usually all good UNTIL someone starts explaining lol !

You have a point, but everyone here - myself included - tends to provide so much better material for snark than the quality of their written English that it would seem like scraping the barrel.  A bit like criticising Hitler for his dress-sense.  </Godwin>

The Vault has already been referenced in posts this morning.

Both as the vault and with quotes from threads.

The Frog is probably listing down our IP addresses, in-game characters, and exploit use as we speak/type.

Prepare for the revenge of the French!

(kidding - more power, Flav! And don't give away *all* the exploit info. Especially not the Lava Caves one!)

A half-dozen boss Vaulties donated generously with real money to my classroom during a fundraiser in May 2015 to get poor kids books to read. I won't forget that. They know who they are, and they freaking rule.

Flav seems to be an ok guy, but his unhealthy preoccupation for things phone related can only mean that he's a telemarketer and should be treated as such.
