I've always empathized with you.  I've run QA at two different software divisions and it's always the department that gets the least resources, and usually the blame when bugs hit a live product.   It gets really bad when some of the devs, or ALL of the devs get into the mindset of "Oh we have a QA department, so it's their job to catch all my bugs, so I don't have to do any unit testing. YAY!"

And then you have the "lay people" who are the customers who don't understand the "real-world" software development life cycle who picture a huge room with hundreds of testers going through complete testing plans that were based on complete functional design documents that were provided by the completely competent programming team 3 months before QA got their first test version, which allowed you as QA manager to create those perfect test plans.

When in reality, you are thrown a vague list of requirements a week before the first test version that you need then create a vague test plan to give to your staff of 5-10 testers (if you are lucky).

And then of course, the higher ups don't care what you tell them about the number of bugs... they just want to know "Is there a workaround?"  "Can the players still play for the most part?"  WE HAVE TO SHIP because my bonus is based on shipping on time.

So, yeah... maybe Turbine isn't that bad, but I'm sure there is some of that you have to deal with. 

In any case, keep posting here.

Oh and one more thing, please tell everyone in Turbine that listens to the Player's Council to ignore every freaking thing that FranOhmsford says.

If Akamai was this big evil thing that the dumb forumites make it out to be, Akamai would have been out of business long ago.

To fear Akamai is stupid.  I would fear Playspan more if I was a dumb DDO forumite.  Playspan has the actual keys to the kingdom and they are targeted a lot.
