I have not seen you rage over Akamai. Since you are on the actual server side of the business you know about Akamai and its traffic use and how much of an impact Akamai has on the internet. You post knowledgable responses.
If Akamai was this big evil thing that the dumb forumites make it out to be, Akamai would have been out of business long ago.
To fear Akamai is stupid. I would fear Playspan more if I was a dumb DDO forumite. Playspan has the actual keys to the kingdom and they are targeted a lot.
Oh true that compared to the all out rejection from some I look tame.
But it's still a rage. Pando was never installed on my PC after I upgraded to W7.
And having this bastard piece of bloatware sneak itself on it was really really annoying.
( Basically : I have a 8+ year old PC, 8 Years ago it was a monster [Pentium D 930], nowadays it's still as good as a high end I3 or a medium I5. I don't want to have to replace it due to unnecessary software... Akamai netsession is unnecessary for keeping the game up to date. It might have some use when downloading the full game [ I doubt honestly, since the bandwidth limitations are on the customer side, not on the server side. ] )
Yes it's nit picking for 1% CPU cycles and 15Mb of RAM... but if I want more RAM than what I have I need to replace the mainboard... If I replace the mainboard... well I need to replace the CPU, the RAM, the Power Supply and the Box.
