im at a 63 before charisma modifier.  if i push my cha to 30-easy to do even as a third stat. i hit 73-with gh, 4 skill tome, maxed ranks, ship buffs.

low 50s will fail often around 40%. and a 50-70 is going to fail for coup de grace. laughably so. isnt needed, but in case one wanted reliable coup and no fail will dc.

If one was 1 shoting mobs from the beginning, why would coup be needed ? This will actually result in a loss of dps, especially with a cooldown of 12 sec.

Coup the Grace is worthless on a high dps toon. It is a easy button for noobs.

Noobs can't make high dps toons.

Tried all three Bard trees since the armor and Bard updates (including con based dwarf swash) and my favorite is a charisma based PDK Warchanter 16b/3f/1r in heavy armor with arcane spell failure slotted.

Doesn't have the raw dps of a swash but the trade off is heavy armor and constantly making mobs helpless. The freeze cleave means everything stays stiff long enough for the group's dps to more than cover any personal lost dps. Intim can be used to gather mobs if the aggro gets too scattered. Freeze DCs are 80/84. Bastard sword and tower shield can be swapped to in the very rare emergency instances when the extra MRR/PRR are needed. The + movement speed group buff is obviously nice too.

Frozen Fury builds put stunning fist monks to shame.

With the best melee tactics in the game and the ability to operate heavy armor post update 23 (swash can only operate in light), I don't consider it a flavor build. Anyway, not trying to sell it, I actually enjoy having a unique character. Just sharing that I found it the most effective out of the Bard builds I've tried.

If dps is the primary objective, not sure I would choose swash over paladin, paladin/tempest, or wolf/ranger. In fact, swash might start looking a little flavorful in comparison.

I'd usually get Blitz going close to the beginning of EE's and just bulldoze them while barely getting hit and use Fascinate or Otto's as required.
