Hello everyone! First build post on here. this is just a little somethin somethin i created during the downtime for the update on lamannia (cause it took the whole day to update and i had to get my fix of ddo). I am open for any critiquing of the build. just know that this was only tested in max level 28, IT WAS NOT TESTED IN HEROICS (15+). If there is anything i can do to make the build better, comment!  Cool

I don't know dude, I can't help thinking that 18 rogue has to be best great xbow with that sweet +2 crit multi you can get 13-20x4 as an elf.

Okay, that actually does sounds a lot better, my goal for this build was to merely get deadly weps, and with a Thunderholme great x-bow with deadly and the enhancements from the battle engineer tree made the Base damage in the high 70's.. but i am new to these xbow builds, i am a caster through and through. thanks for the comment!

How do you figure 5? or are you assuming crusader?

18-20 Gxb * Imp crit = 15-20X4

Don't forget the sniper at tier 5 gives you +1[w] as well. You will want to drop the skill focus, construct essense for: rapid shot and thrown weapon forcus.

Give you 20% more firing speed and a additional 2 ranged power (still kicks in if you are holding a crossbow).

DC is an option, but I was assuming morphic + pulverizer. Or is that not working with xbow?

The AA's secondary imbues only work on arrows not bolts. Also pulverizer is specifically for melee weapons, for example throwing hammers do not benefit because they are 'thrown weapons' not bludgeoning.   But additionally the amount you have to spend to get AA as a elf is pretty prohibitive.

Now I am interested in this, would be great to flesh this out. It would be great if there was a reason to actually hold onto those great crossbows I find occasionally.

sucks doesn't it?

Keep in mind that the AA capstone 20% doubleshot does work on all ranged attacks tho, but the lv 18 core 5% imbue only works on arrows.

What is really a bitch is that the initial Mechanic pass had more for the bow users but not much made it live, or even preview. I made a couple of different Elf AA mechanics on Lamma and they were good-ish, but the points were crazy tight

I am sitting on a maxed xp 18 lev rogue right now. I just can't decide if I should grab the last 2 levs of rogue for the underwhelming cap stone, or if I should grab 2 levs of fighter for the 2 free feats, and the haste for 4pts less than the 8 it costs to get it in acrobat.

Now that, lamma is closed I cant double check to see exactly how the hip flask is working. I don't know what may have changed for live compared to preview, the action boost, whether the damage boost is added on the front end or the back, that kind of thing.

If your going human you gotta spend at least on point for the damage boost.

I just bit the bullet and went pure rogue to 20, will advise on results. I am pretty sure I am giving away some points, but this way at least I can knowledgeably comment on the hip flask that has made it live in the next day or two and eliminate any confusion.

And of course I should point out I am running pure Great crossbow.

Did they make Strategic Combat stack with Targeting Sights, or are you just putting all those points into Harper for fun?

You will take Int to hit in Harper and knowing the angles, since they aren't linked you can pick and choose and save 2pts because Mech already gives it.

Forgot about that, but those points are best spent in Harper, anyway.

Edited.

I redid the gear too. Looks pretty good...I might have to try it out.

It does look nice on paper.  Quick testing with fresh iconics was not too bad in heroic either, two GXbow rogues with random trash bows we pulled from the marketplace pawnshop (and otherwise shadarkai starter gear) cleared through part of elite gianthold without much trouble.
GXBow's autotrip working on 19s is extra hilarious.

I've got an Arti20 that's been sitting unloved from all the way back before the first expansion, may LR20 her into this and take her for a spin.

I've got an crafting whore arti parked at 20 that I don't need taking up space. I might TR him to this.

That's the cost of skipping low levels I guess. PDK would be better, but I'm not going to waste a LR+1 on it. Can get sneak attack in racial tree at least.
