New Mabar ? What is the point ? (Read 11451 times)

	So, i logged in the check out the new Mabar - maybe there are some updates, maybe there are some more +5 tomes. Who knows. Nope. Everyone is grinding, and its back to the old 'STEAL ALL THE MOBS' game - but why ?. What is is that everyone grinding for ? The clickies all expire - what am i missing here ? Do the clickable hats and armor click from hotbar ? WHY IS EVERYONE GRINDING THIS SHIT ?!

	My main question is how much "grinding" is the grind? I mean, are we talking "hop in for a few hours and get a nice augment" or "dick in a pencil sharpener"?

	I have no interest in any of the gear. Quest were rather boring but were quick so good exp/minute. Only ran it with the free keys. I see no other point. At least they managed to keep the lag even without the dragon. Good job Turbine.

I did few hours on a shiradi and a mech got me an int aug, regalia robe, regalia docent. all during preview.

	I think I'm probably only interested in stocking up on the augments. Done about 4 hours worth so far in both the explorer and the challenges and managed to pick up one wisdom, one int, and I'm well on my way to a third. Heh, I was pretty sick of it by the end, and desperately wanted my keys to run out, but every time I ran to another challenge I ended up getting another key by accident.

	Yeah, the xp was super nice. I was using an old bank toon that I used my 20 heart on to switch him to warlock, he went from 1 bar into 14 to about 20k xp from 16 in those 4 hours

	160-180k per first run at CR35 is nice, depending on pot you have running. That's worth it. Takes 16 runs to get an augment. each run is 5 min. So, about 90 min. You need 16 keys. 8 free, and you can get about 8 every 30 min or so. People will say they got 30 or more in 30 min. That hasn't been my experience. The stacking augments that are unbound are worth that effort. Definitely not a heavy grind. It's not the cove or original mabar.

I haven't had time to log in yet, but I have a couple of alts high enough level that new cloaks would be nice, and maybe a few ghostbane rubies. I'm hoping to get in at least a few hours this weekend.

	Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

	If you get a couple people together.. 5 or so.. the spawn rate is really quite nice. I had 50 keys in less then an hour, and the mats, yeah... if you run the quests on lvl 35 and you're capped, you get almost 30 per run. 80 of each type per augment.. is NOT a hard run. and yeah, running Sov, ship 5%, and Masters Gift I get 198k-205k as a lvl 20. Just don't take lvl 21 and you're fine. Once youve got all 4 done, take your level 21, then eat a 100 exp daily stone (its all I ever get, I've never rolled higher then 10 on a daily in my life), take 22

	Just so everyone knows, you can just stand there in EA, turn on the aura, the one that doesn't cost SP, and you tag all the mobs putting you on the list. This doesn't activate them though

	logged with my lowbies yesterday... and I was alone in Graveyard A (1-5) in the two hours I spent there, with my two piking accounts, i saw one single other person running around... Since I was mostly holding the area around Delera's Tomb, he was free to roam every where else. No issue of kill stealing or whatever, and somewhat more chocs and keys than expected. So maybe it's best to go low level than try to find an empty spawn spot in the Graveyard G ( 25-30 )

	Int and wis augment ( wizards and clerics are in vogue ) and the robe clicky. I don't know, 33 keys, 5 - 6 mins per max level challenge, maybe 8 hours total ? And that's with wasting hour or two "in full farming party". Fuck that, you get ten times more keys running solo with aoe near a full party. Hope they don't get pissed too early. Even solo away from everybody else is faster than being in a group. Challenges and wilderness are completely trivial, xp first time is uber, stupid anti party mechanics have not changed, rewards are okay if you play wis and int characters. Might get extra augments for monkcher or mechanic but it's really THE epitome of mindless grind.
