	I keep checking over here to see if it has and somehow this game is still going. I don't even recognize anyone who posts here anymore. Is this site even owned by the same people?

	Strakeln still owns and runs the site. As discussed in another thread, the lack of quality competition on the MMO front is probably a significant factor.

	Most MMOs these days are either horrible, wait-gaimy, pay2win, click-baity bullshit. There's not a lot of even halfway decent games period, and most are subscription based or "freemium" only in the sense that you can play without a subscription if you're cool with only having access to 10% of the game. DDO is pretty much the only game to do freemium and micro transactions right. The low barriers to entry keep a steady trickle of new players coming in, while fun and highly re-playable content keeps a core group of players around. Coupled with an intelligent monetization system and you have a solid game. Yes, its ran by absolute asshats and I'm pretty sure sev_pay has forgotten what it's like to stand upright and walk forwards, but there's some obvious reasons why the game is still going strong. Also DDO Vault is in now way affiliated with Turbine. Like completely unconnected. I guess you could call this a "fan" site

	I'll never understand the propensity of people to brag about being good at a video game. Its a toy you play with for fun. The only person who should be proud of you is your mother. If you're 3.

	also, I don't think Tubine would "cancel" DDO; they're rip off one limb at a time, like so many legs on a spider, and leaving the main body intact to see if anyone's still interested. think of it as "deth by 1000 cuts) where they gradually, intentionally, drive everyone away so they are no longer contractually obligated to keep a game alive that costs them time and resources, but doesn't generate any real revenue.
