Because it deals more damage:

1) Favored enemies = +10 damge at lvl 20 (assuming you don't take any more)

2) You don't have to invest in WIS since the fucked up version of Manyshot is way better than the fucked up version of 10k Stars; just go all in on DEX for max DPS or invest in CON.

3) Monks are gay.

None of this means shit anyway: bow users are beyond fucked for DPS these days.
