Strakeln I was only half joking about that Knobull smoking rubber but I have to ask.
What did you do to him? Ripped his soul trough his anus ?? He's mad at you for some reason
I can't believe you guys all missed this!
The story is laid out in the four threads I linked, but here's the condensed version:
Knobull is either "Yabber" or "Keyfaker of Orien" here (they may be one in the same, or related).
This all started at the end of January. Yabber was unhappy with KNN's posts and my unwillingness to do anything about it, so he started spamming the Vault. His hope was that I would then ban him, and this would somehow prove whatever point he was trying to make. I've often said that the easiest way to get banned here is to try, but I figured I'd do things a little differently this time. So I sanitized his account - changed the email address, blew away the PMs, and flushed the IP cache. Then I changed his password to "fucknut" and posted his new login/password for all to see. A few people logged in before someone changed the password again and claimed the account for themselves.
Yabber was still not banned at that point, as I wanted to give him a chance for more drama. He registered in a new account and said he was going to spend the next few weeks trying to hack the Vault. He then tried out every known YaBB vulnerability he could find with Google. That didn't work, so he started spamming the place again (I forget the exact timeline with these last two items, may have them backwards).
He also requested a password reset at the webhost, which created the standard auto-gen email from them. I posted the email here for all to laugh at, and this email included the IP he made the request from. Eventually, I had to declare fun time as over, so I banned his IPs and made it more difficult for him to register new accounts.
Two months later, he's clearly still butthurt. He submitted another password reset at the webhost last night. Keyfaker, who is either Yabber or a friend/relative of Yabber, is just as butthurt, but limits his response to "I hate Strake" posts.
What is particularly amusing, to me at least, is the reality of his situation. He's advocating people contact my webhost... because I posted an auto-gen email from when he tried to access one of their computing devices without authorization... after he spent a fair bit of time and effort at spamming their servers. If he pushes this far enough, the end result might just be the webhost contacting his ISP about his activities. ISPs don't take too kindly to people spamming and <cough> "hacking" - so they may very well deny him service. I don't know about you, but where I live, there's only one broadband provider... sure would suck to be banned from using them...
