Qualor has reached a new level of retard in that thread.

He is a total hypocrite.  He is just as profane and as much a troll as any of the worst here.  He is just only capable of dishing it out.  He can't take it.  He needs to be able to report others to protect him.

Interesting read! Between the turd accusing others of exploiting while admitting to duping himself and qwijis sarcasm, I feel like I want to call all of you a bunch hack-fucking criminals while I go get off by asphyxiation

Not Cubed ?

hmm, Cordovan must have been in a hurry once he became aware, and just closed it instead of reading through the posts and feeding the Cube.

Yup... I even got it in PM... Come on I appear twice in the Vault thread page he posted... or is Knowbull in such a lalaland that he can't tie Flav with Flavilandile... ( it's weird, as I've never hidden that fact )

And I think I understand now why it wasn't Cubed... Cordovan fucked up when he made the Kobold subforums, so he is at the origin of the leak,
by writting it in the closing message he absolve all the PC members of every leak they can do at that time ( since the forums were made public for a few minutes ( come on, I'm sure you can copy/paste some of the threads here )...

I can't believe you guys all missed this!

The story is laid out in the four threads I linked, but here's the condensed version:

Knobull is either "Yabber" or "Keyfaker of Orien" here (they may be one in the same, or related).

This all started at the end of January. Yabber was unhappy with KNN's posts and my unwillingness to do anything about it, so he started spamming the Vault. His hope was that I would then ban him, and this would somehow prove whatever point he was trying to make. I've often said that the easiest way to get banned here is to try, but I figured I'd do things a little differently this time. So I sanitized his account - changed the email address, blew away the PMs, and flushed the IP cache. Then I changed his password to "fucknut" and posted his new login/password for all to see. A few people logged in before someone changed the password again and claimed the account for themselves.

Yabber was still not banned at that point, as I wanted to give him a chance for more drama. He registered in a new account and said he was going to spend the next few weeks trying to hack the Vault. He then tried out every known YaBB vulnerability he could find with Google. That didn't work, so he started spamming the place again (I forget the exact timeline with these last two items, may have them backwards).

He also requested a password reset at the webhost, which created the standard auto-gen email from them. I posted the email here for all to laugh at, and this email included the IP he made the request from. Eventually, I had to declare fun time as over, so I banned his IPs and made it more difficult for him to register new accounts.

Two months later, he's clearly still butthurt. He submitted another password reset at the webhost last night. Keyfaker, who is either Yabber or a friend/relative of Yabber, is just as butthurt, but limits his response to "I hate Strake" posts.

What is particularly amusing, to me at least, is the reality of his situation. He's advocating people contact my webhost... because I posted an auto-gen email from when he tried to access one of their computing devices without authorization... after he spent a fair bit of time and effort at spamming their servers. If he pushes this far enough, the end result might just be the webhost contacting his ISP about his activities. ISPs don't take too kindly to people spamming and <cough> "hacking" - so they may very well deny him service. I don't know about you, but where I live, there's only one broadband provider... sure would suck to be banned from using them...

Where I live there's.... Orange, Free, Bouygues, SFR/Numericable, and 10 ( wild assed number, actual is probably higher ) ISPs... All offering some kind of broadband ( usually triple play through a box )

The fiber was installed in the building two weeks ago... I'm waiting for them to call me to see what are their offers. [ typical will be 100mb down, 20Mb up with a high end subscription at 500Mb down/200Up ]
( They are going to call, Sadly I'll probably get a drone from whatever callcenter they hired that will be unable to give me the answers to the questions I'll ask him, so I'll probably end up digging out the details on the net )

On that point I'm quite glad to be on my side of the Pond, it's uncommon to have one single broadband ISP in an area here, as usually the last mile is (formerly) state owned, so any ISP can rent it to the (former) state monopoly.

In cities in the US there is usually a few options.  Some form of dsl (usually provided by at&t) and one or two cable providers as well as fiber in some of the much bigger cities.

In the country though....  About 15 years ago I lived in a little hick town,  and the month before I moved there they had just gotten their first broadband provider.  Even still there were large swaths of land that they didn't cover leaving people still stuck with a 56k modem or satellite as their only options.  I haven't been back up their in a few years but I doubt it's gotten much better.

Please.  Clever had nothing to do with it.  I haven't noted Snook to be terribly clever.  Just his choice of employment points to that, as who would want to do his job?  That is not a rhetorical question.  Who would actually want his job, unless they had no other option?  I would work in a call center before I'd do his job, and that job is entirely thankless enough, as I know through both conversations with the managers of call centers who had to deal with the huge turnover rate due to the rules they enforced for time on the phone with each customer and also colleagues and friends who have worked such jobs and have been in tears about it at times.  It sucks ass, and I sympathize entirely.
As an aside, Turbine seems to be a bit better.  I've only have to call in about 5 times, but each time I've had a good experience with their call center personnel, and they have engaged in lengthy chitchat with me on a couple of calls.  If they were judged solely on time to resolve metrics that would never happen.

Being the weekend and putting in limited time on a weekend seems a more likely explanation for Jerry's post, since he left all the posts with outright cursing and he usually deletes/cubes those.  Unless I missed some, but there are still animated gifs that clearly violate the TOS in the thread, and a lot of other exchanges that usually get cubed.

Quote:
Clearly this thread needs to be closed, so will be doing that. The PC forums were briefly exposed on Friday thanks to me setting up the Kobold Forums and making an errant switch for two minutes! That's all it takes. Overall not that big a deal in terms of info; the purpose of the Council isn't to be overly secretive, but to allow us to have conversations openly with a select group of folks. Haven't seen anything that raises concern.

My favorite part is his lack of historical memory, since the first 2016 member casualty posted something as equally harmless and yet was still dropped.  That's a great case of laying down the law and then picking it back up again.

"We have zero tolerance for NDA violations, so this guy is toast" vs. "Meh, I don't see anything too bad here, we're not really trying to be all secretive and stuff, chillaxe."

Jekyll/Hide like.

I remember the early days of cable Internet, when having a linux/unix machine and the trivial technical know-how to set the NIC to promiscuous mode literally meant that you could see what kind of porn your neighbors were serfing.   When you weren't hearing them fuck that is.
