What about 3 warlock instead of wizard as an alternate version?  Could sub Intensify for MoK.  Not sure it's noticeably better than AM but it might be close without the hassle of trying to maintain MoK stacks with just Arcane Bolt.

15 points in tier 3 in AM gives:
Core 1 and 2 SLAs
15 sp power
90 sp points
3% crit chance
Efficient Metamagic
Arcane Bolt

15 points in one of the 3 Warlock trees would give the following:
Soul Eater
22 sp power

Tainted Scholar
Depravity pseudo action boost
14.25 sp power (iirc the game rounds down)
10% spell crit dmg
90 sp points

Enlightened Spirit
Aura dmg
5 Healing Amp
Fear Immunity
16 PRR
2 MRR
Perma Shield
Eldritch Burst or 10 MRR or sp power

If you were doing a wizard 5 split, would you do 13 arti/2 sorc or 12/3?

12/3. I've been using dir charge on the vangaurd wolf, and wow is all I'm going to say about it.Robot it is. Repair allows dropping cocoon for tactics twist. Harper allows int to hit on the way to KTA.

The vangaurd wolf is solid, but it doesn't have the followup to vaporize the entire group of LE mobs after the charge. Still. Wow.I should probably source the tactics on the build to see how high it will end up. Oh well, too tired now. Maybe later.

I have this feeling it will only reach high 90s.

Animated rope gives an insight bonus right now... the linked wiki page even mentions this.

Mm so one could combine rope + boots of the innocent for another 6 DC, Spooky for 1 more.

Do you even need a DC that high? I'm thinking the 2 DC epic destiny feat seems better of as electrical spell power.

Added in completionist. GDI i spent so much time getting to it I have to take it now.

Also what was I thinking with mithral. Take adamantine body. Duh. Add in masters touch on a tower shield, and call it a day.

Explain me why is this better than a pure DC sorc? I just don't see the point unless if you are doing content that you would run out of sp on a pure sorc, and I just cant think about any quest where that happens right now.

Sorc SLAs blow balls. Their AoE and caster level scaling is weak, except for fire, which is highly immune. The 5 SLAs you get as a sorc are level 1, 1, 2, 2, and 3 spells. The 5 SLAs you get as an arti are level 1, 2, 3, 3, 4,spells.

Sorcs can't trap.

Sorcs have less HP.

Sorcs are subject to ASF so adamantine body + PDK or other good tower shields is out.

Sorcs have three instead of 5 SLAs of your primary element.

Sorc SlAs don't have AoE CC built in.

Sorcs are charisma based which plummets dire charge DC.

Sorcs don't have spell crit multipliers.

Sorcs don't have bonus feats.

Sorcs don't AoE debuff for additional damage as part of their AoE dps rotation.

Sorcs can't self heal unless they are undead or a robot.

Sorcs don't have good high level SLA+Spell rotations since the Master of X feats only modify a level 1, 2, and 3 sorc spells.

Sorcs don't function as well in magsiter, since they don't have good high level SLA+Spell rotations.

But all that pales to one simple fact. The build name for this is electric critzilla, which is damn cooler than anything you can come up with for a sorc.

Have to agree with ^^ here...there is no way in hell this is better than a pure 20 sorc...pure 20 flieshie sorcs are so strong it is borderline a joke...

I am not taking anything away from your build Tilo, I am sure it is fun, but no way is this as godly as people proclaim here...

Why would a sorc need dire charge? For CC? A well built sorc can rock any LE content no problem, even a fleshie sorc...

Again, cool build and all, but I dont think a sorc is as bad as you make it out to be...

Forums always says DC sucks and bla, but that's because it requires a lot of skill and invstiment to work. They don't have that so they can't make it work, the conclusion is saying that it sucks  (not talking about anyone specifically). On the other hand forumites tend to overvalue some builds. This one for example, he puts full vulnerability and all the eletric vulnerabitly shit on the math (just like he did for the math on trees).

That's just unrealistic, it's like when forumites do math assuming blitz 10 24/7. By the time you cast lightining motes and it procs, mob is already dead even on LE if your party has a somewhat good DPS. Let's not even talk about 20% vulnerabilty. Ok, it may not be dead but the point is that instead of casting motes you could be casting another damage spell, that in the end would be more DPS than if you casted motes.

Now who carres about SLA? on a sorc you have 5k+ sp, that's enough to do anything on this game

That just means they are using a different valuation system than  you are. Perhaps they are valuing the build against similiar builds and same class. Evaluating an evoker arti against a DC necro sorc isn't how most evaluate this build. I would think comparing it to pure evo arti or an evoker air savant sorc like farwind is a better comparison.

Plus, fun wins out, even if a build isn't as powerful as others (warlock cough cough).

But I am. Comparing an eletric sorc nuker with an eletric artificer nuker is a fair "evaluation system".

I don't know where are you taking this "necro sorc" idea from. This thing never crossed my mind, and I bet Zorian's too. Just the fact that you even think about a something like a necro sorc makes me think what is your idea about current endgame scene.

As a record, I was totally thinking about a pure eletric evoker sorcerer when I did the first question: "why do this instead of a sorc".I really thought it was intended that I was talking about eletric sorc... and not a necro

Mmm can't use adamantine body past 20 due to ASF. Also don't have a golden orb, but I do have a skyvault. Updated OP.

Mmm forget Sorc, this seems like it will rival warlock. Maybe even surpass it. We'll find out.

You'll have 4% spell failure with Skyvault, adamantine body and all anti-ASF you can add. It's not much.

Only warlock slas seem subject to ASF. I guess that means pick up a rank of burning hands sla, and keep the plate

I'm gona have 85% ASF between PDK shield and Adamantine Body Smiley And I won't have to worry about ASF on invis since we'll have it as an SLA...

realizing I don't want to spend 2 mins every quest charging up MoK. That and spell power is so high we won't need reconstruct.

Loss of Tactical detonation will hurt a ton though.

Smoother rotation now. Both seem ok. Dunno which is better.

Updated OP. I went 1-29 with this now, and it was a very satisfying experience.

Oh, and if you ever lose to a warlock in kill count on this build, you are doing it wrong.

I was gona do the int based undead shiradi build, but I kindof want to do another life with this first. Haven't decided the flavor yet.

Oh, even with only a T2 LGS weapon and accessory, dire charge > motes > energy burst is everything I imagined it to be.

Without any appropriate LGS, MoK was a bit too many button pushes for me, but was also everything I imagined it to be.

The 3 Pali split version would be good for those that die a lot. The auto healng undead version would work out as well. Or the winged displaced sorc 6 version. The druid bear form one would help a pre-made group healer heal you.

I guess just pick a flavor that helps take care of why you are dying. Oh, and remember to shield deflect magic damage, and quicken those heals! Maybe even run in draconic and twist in some D.

Nice numbers and all but not really much larger than any other caster.

How does it perform in Legendary Elite Shroud?

Legendary Elite quests are not really a measure let alone EE quests or LH raids, as a bacon sandwich can perform in those also...

Not hating the build at all Tilo but anyone can post screenshots of large crit numbers on prepped mobs...can you post a video of gameplay in leg elite shroud? Enter LE shroud solo beating on the trash at the start...that is usually a good measure of how strong toons are...

And you have stated before you hate LE shroud as you prefer LH shroud...that already makes me have my doubts...

Again it is a well thought out build but proclaiming it is as godly as you make it out to be might be misleading...

^^

Since I don't really do LE shroud, that's not how I value builds. I'll leave that testing to you! Lamma is up so have at it. I'm busy trying to figure out the enchantment/summoner build to make to take into shroud! Good thing I have the LGS ooze weapon for it already, and most of a vacuum.

I do like how arti's can prep their own mobs now though. Stripping evasion off mobs is a godsend.

No. It buffed two enhancements I still will not use, runearm spell power and auto-repair. You could pull off the runearm use with /pali in basic build, and get most of the damage of other splits back.

Updated OP.

Cool. How does it hold up at lvl 30 end game for LE content? Any good? Or is this a LH raid train type build? (which is fine I'm just considering it for my crafting toon for the extra crafting levels).
