I'm taking bets on how long the Cannith Tutorial quest will be broken after they implement NewCC. After figuring it would be broken for a very long time I ran all my alts through it and collected a small stack of +75% crafting XP pots.

That happens from the tutorial? Damn, I wish that were of any value whatsoever.

You get a choice of the +75% pot, 5 +25% success boosters, or 5 of some idiot run boost thing that I can't even describe well because I ignored it so fast.  The pots are BtA, the boosters are BtC.  So I took the pots for all my alts and the boosters for my sole crafter.

Damn, I had totally forgotten that existed! Time to run the stable through it for those pots.
75% is pretty good.

Yeah actually, that will come in handy when having to re-level!

I suppose, if I look at it like a crafting TR. Still, a 75% boost on doing even more crafting grind is ... like a great discount on the price of being set on fire.

If you'd already maxed out crafting on the old system you'll have to level further in the new system. Some free 75% pots will be nice for that.

I suppose. Like a really nice bandage for a self-inflicted wound.

Exactly! If you're going to hurt yourself, you may as well get a cool bandage out of it.

So on an unrelated note: I have no idea where they are having so much difficulty figuring out the exchange rate from lesser essences to the "new" essence type - if its literally anything other than 5:1, they are just going to have a bunch of REALLY pissed off players.

"Figuring out" means finding where in the old code the lesser essences are. Since they're "better than" plebian code monkey trifles such as documentation.

Jerry kept hedging on this one, probably because he needed to clear things that were above his pay grade to declare, but they have come out and committed to the 5:1 lesser/NewGreater exchange rate.

Not that it will matter much.  The new bottleneck is going to be the collectables, not the essences.  With 12 greater essence types being consolidated into a single NewEssence, and literally thousands of lesser essences being swapped 5:1, no one who wants to be flush in NewEssences will have any problems getting there.

Just be sure you keep a few stacks of the lessers that are used in trapmaking if you play a rogue at all, or you'll probably be screwed for months while they figure out that when they change a system they need to change all the things that interact with that system as well.

50/50 they re-enable flaskcrafting.
