AoN builds

I've got a mind to try out a Tree build before it gets nerfed to hell.  I found one that looks decent here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1id7ibogDakVtrMnDbzVflQmyXgtF21CxQ4zdVcNp
lg8/edit?pageId=105620246454649382781#gid=0

Demo video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SqFaxtnDcY
Warning: Annoying as fuck music.  Mute to avoid madness.

My problem is that I ran a single Monk life as a shuriken build so I have no experience with Monk melee abilities.  I can see that the build performs in the video, but I'm not sure how to play it if I go that route.

And I'm not sure the build is still valid, since that video was posted just over a year ago.  Unless I miss the mark it seems like it should still be valid just considering the updates released within that time frame.

If anyone has experience with Trees and can comment on the build and provide general tips on attack sequence rotations I'd appreciate it greatly.

Here is the build worked up in LSD's Character Builder Lite:

got a guildie running a pure 20 Monk tree build and it looked pretty outsized OP. Just ran one slavers chain with him last week. No idea on build yet but apparently it's possible

Il comment on that build only.
Your rotation consists of ww/cleave/great cleave and fist of iron as a filler on that build.
Feat wise epic reflexes is imho a waste /you dont need it since you have imp evasion and only 2 palie levels so your saves wont be in the 100% no fail range but quite amazing for non reaper content, and since you are a con based build you will be able to survive any failed saves.
If you go toward tier 2 of chalice you can pick the palie cleave which has better w then the normal and use that + regular great cleave (it actually since its better w can be put into consideration as a valid choice)

From personal tests, you can also drop precision in case you need a better feat.
/gear and a twist are more then enough atm and the to hit isnt as problematic when you craft to hit gear -slavers and stacking on hands slot from cc

But even that build is entirely diferent now since after monk rework we got 30 melle power on 12 monk splits from henshin and techincally tier 5 in shintao gives us more benefit now.
Versions of tree consist of 2 tier 5 choices, either shadow double or shintao 5.

I prefer shintao 5 as i incorporate jade strike into my build.
(its a direct 10% vulner when it procs and its not that hard to raise the dc even when you entirely drop wisdom)

Gear wise you want temple set + main hand whatever you prefer.
Choices are obvious, a vacuum stick, pos 2 stick for proc and a thforged something.
Some weapons transfer w in tree when you are centerd but they dont offer much utility so they arent as benefical. /best weapon i found is defiler long sword but that requires a feat..
He doesnt use any shenigans, its a prettty straightforward warlock tree build.
    Quite ok imho

About twists, in current content pick either 1 of the 2, either full consecration line or endless lays.
You dont need both if you have plifes stacked. /that is only valid if you plan to pull red in every content in game, if you dont have full gear, lessen the pulls but dont waste twists on both
I play wout consecration with lays only and use twists for more offense (dance imp patack primal etc)

While i absolutely love arcane warrior i must say that dire is better on tree builds as is acts as 1 more semi reset attack.
Both choices are good but it depends on preference.

Hope it helps, i wrote as i read thro your post, found some build faults and as stuff came to mind
    /cripling strike for example, why?

What is actually the current top tree split?

12monk/5pally/3wizzy for max meelee powaaa and uber defence (read saves) with some lay on hand healing?

Or the current lock split so many play?

I have lost track of all the flavors of tree floating around...

I figured it had to be something like this, but I appreciate the confirmation.  What stance would you go in?

I have only 1 Cleric PL.  I really dislike the class, so getting 2 more PL in the class will be painful.  Hopefully the promised Cleric pass will actually happen and will actually make the class more than just a group buffer with modest DPS.  Full Consecration seems to be the way to go both for the heal over time and the 10% damage boost, but that Tier 4 is a painful twist that this sample build did not go with, instead taking the Tier 3 Cons heals and the endless lays.

Speaking just from a theorycrafting perspective since I have not run a tree yet, I think you need either Lock or Cleric for auras to boost Spirit.  And Lock seems to be the better choice by far since it is mana free, channel divinity free, and you can just turn it on and let it run forever.

I havent shared the paly wizs split, concept and minor synergies it has  to forums yet, only to jiag a bit and posted only 1 vid of a slavers 1 run to showcase some rotations for him.
Would say after playing both that it is more efficient because higher burst damage and other things you have ap to spend on.
(difference for example between that build and the warlock split is that you can kill caster and 2 dudes in le pt3 slavers in 1 spirit rotation without backing out of the fight, i never managed that on lock split had to kite a bit no matter how beefed i went into the fight)
    I miss arcane warrior tho

Yes for feat, stance depends usually you run wind stance but if you focus to get more melle power there is a breaking point where the crits from fire stance offset wind stances dstrike, also you can abuse qstrike for initial burst.
Actually the more str/initial base damage you have the more fire stance becomes appealing since you dont focus on sneak damage or procs but on heavy strikes.
Think about trees like heavy category while current meta /sneak based builds for portal dps/ are lightweight.
Lays are unaffected by cleric plife, it gives you turns aka more dmight charges.

IF you dont like cleric you can now do a maul focused cleric monk fighter and mimic centerd users, its actually quite strong and a fun fast plife i suggest to most people now.
(I do those lifes as dc caster on alt because im a stuborn old timer heh)

Ah, right.  I was mixing up lays and turns for the cleric past life feat.  Funny, since clerics don't get lays at all...

Sure, but the build is better for a FvS due to the auto-grant feats.  It'll be a long time before I go back to cleric, certainly not before they do the class pass in 2043.
