Sort of rhetorical, but what if there's a "20th-completion" (60th-; 100th-) list?  Does that change your mind about RNG in a "normal" run?

I was going to say that I like the randomness, and I do, because it makes me actually look at loot, but yeah, there's gotta be some point where you get what you're after.  And hopefully before it's obsolete, which is the old ironic slap in the face.

I just pulled a Bloodstone in a random Sands chest.  Kind of chuckled.  It's not even worth it to post on the AH anymore.

This is why we ran epic back in the day and why they were such a hit not because it was a challenge but becuase we all wanted the phat loots, fuck challenge..... anyone woulda exploited the crap out em of if they could.

At this point, it just seems like they are resume padding. So many new systems, changes to existing systems, and an awful lack of content. One quest this update, 2 quests and a raid March-ish sometime. So 4 quests until summer. Ugh. Stop the systems and give us content already.

I LOVED the 20th completion list. Even if you didn't get what you want, you could do 20 more runs and get a second 20th completion list. The odds worked out that in 100ish runs, everything should have come up at least once as an option. Every run felt like progress.

Compared to "You might get it on the first run or you might never get it", I'd rather know that if I do grind out 100 runs, I'll get what I want.

So far it doesn't seem to suck.

But it does divide the player base.  Today I saw a LFM posted for a slayer, with a note that said something like "Dungeons around here."  I saw it was a 30 and a 26, so I sent a tell to the lead and asked if they were running reaper mode.  I got back "I have a 26th!"  Which didn't directly answer the question, but it was clear that the guy didn't think you could run reaper on base 27 level content without being at cap.  So I did different things.  My pug yesterday had a 25th, he did just fine in both base 27 and base 28 level reaper mode runs.

Don't fear the reaper.

I like that kind of randomness too, but I want it to be the frosting on the cake of measurable progress, not the only source for the items.
  
Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

1 Skull Reaper is a farce.

It's like old, pre-nerf champions and a few "reapers" which are Dread Wraith mages, basically.

Reminds me a little of the old scaling, back when proper parties and Healers were a thing, pre-MotU.

I hate being challenged and I ran them at level with a 3rd life gimp-lock no problem.

For 120% first time XP, I'll take it. If I get a cosmetic, I'll take that too.

Free is free.

Anything to save on buying XP tomes.
