Since yesterday night I've been no-lifing the ladder. Huzzah!

From platinum to Diamond(2), I used either a Boros Angels list or an Urza's Ruinous Blast list in best of 1.
At about Diamond 2 I stalled out so I switched over to best of 3 using mono-blue. I feel that mono-blue is heavily favored in that setting since most people are running control variants and you can royally fuck up their drops.
The Urza's Ruinous Blast list is a ton of fun but not super competitive. I could win most agro and mid-range match-ups via Lyra / Shalai / Aurelia. The life-link and hexproof really fuck-up mono-red. This makes both mid-range angel decks decent for laddering.

The ruinous blast list is Jeskai. (Blue / Red / White). The win condition is going face with a Lyra or other over-stated card. The deck's trick is to stall out the board state and let the enemy accumulate threats until you drop an ASYMMETRIC board wipe, or simply out value them. I have three late-game draw engine cards. Two copies of Immortal Sun, and one copy of Azorious Law bringer. I included a copy of Cleansing Nova because 4 board wipes is just not enough. Four board wipes is a 1/15 chance-per-card of seeing a wipe and five board wipes is a 1/12 chance-per-card of seeing a board wipe. By turn five you've drawn five cards, so you have a better chance than not to get a wrath by that time. I considered running settle the wreckage but I really dislike holding the mana open. It's too obvious. I also don't really want to thin out their lands and my card quality is much higher than the average deck---so clearing the board at turn five is not really a big deal.
At the 1 drop slot I have two fountains of renewal.
At the 2 drop slot I have 4 copies of gleaming barrier to keep me alive and help me mana-fix.
At the 3 drop slot I have 2 copies of Sai (a 1/4 blocker) and 2 copies of Tajic (prevents non-combat damage to Shalai). I also have a one-off copy of Danitha for using with the Blackblade.
From then on out its big angels.

I tried an Abzan version of the deck with fungal creatures and Kaya but I felt that it was a little less consistent but better matched against control and Dimir. Dimir is a fucking nightmare using angels. Hostage take-over on a shalai or lyra can end the game for me, and then there's thief-of-sanity. I think any deck with high card quality though will run into problems against dimir. It's to the point where I concede upon being thought erasure'd if I'm running angels. You can't win 'em all.
