If I had to guess I would imagine their sales dont get affected too much as most people buying from us wouldnt have spent the money if we didnt exist

Definitely made them lose sales from me. More often than not decided to just grind instead of buying them.

Wouldn't have thought twice about buying just the exp stone itself at a good price though.

With the latest post about hiring more subcontractors/suppliers, I'd like to propose the following conspiracy hypothesis, which I think has a non-zero likelihood of being true: ddoplayer98 is an SSG employee, and this entire exercise is a honeypot.

With this honeypot, SSG will get to round up and eliminate the worst exploiters, and also to obtain replication info on the latest exploits from people who would never report them to SSG. In addition, it's a way for them to test the waters on selling the things that would still cause player outrage (such as Reaper XP) without further cementing DDO's reputation as a purely P2W game.

Think of ddoplayer98's store as the discount warehouse for things like Otto's boxes. You pay less, but might not get the warranty, the stuff is close to expiry, and you have to go to an ugly building in a worse area of town to buy it.  SSG gets to profit from people like meathead who would never pay full price - and they can do it without having to discount the regular store prices paid by honest and upstanding citizens.

Supporting this hypothesis is the lack of "sharing is caring" from ddoplayer98 - everything is a secret, and it's all about ddoplayer98 making money from DDO players. Sending a 'cease and desist' letter to themselves just adds legitimacy in the eye of the consumers / suckers.

Seriously, if ddoplayer98 isn't from SSG, then they should be cloning his website and undercutting his prices. Reaper XP can sell for a lot less when you only need to click a button, instead of having to pay some guy in China to run the character through dungeons.
