Epic gear at 20 for Inquisitive (Read 5627 times)

	Just hit 20 with an iconic inquisitive intelligence-based build (11Ra/7Ro/2Ar) and looking at what gear is worth farming/swapping out on the way to 30. Will probably be doing three or four EPLs at least. All augments are currently level 12 so swapping them out is a priority for pieces that wouldn't be replaced. Currently running (slots): Wallwatch Circlet (Good Luck) Lion's Mane (Proof Against Poison) Planar Compass (Wizardry) Hide of the Fallen (Resist) Bronze Dragonscale (Defence) Ivy Helix (Proof Against Disease) Wildwood Gauntlets (Charisma) Ship Kickers (Wisdom/Fear Immune) Laurel Helix (Swiftness) Barbette's Bracers (Disable Device) Wildwood Vest (Dexterity) Acolyte's Lenses (Search) Dumpster Fire (Blind Immune) Main weapon - Ratcatcher (Adamantine) Swaps Barovian (Cold Iron) - General DR breaker Macabre (Acid) - for evil pierce (for all 5 mobs in the game that give a shit) I have access to festive Dexterity, Wisdom and Charisma if that's relevant (probably not). I have fuck all else in terms of epic gear. I have a couple more pieces of Sharn stuff, including Spectre Boots (not that keen to farm Soul Splitter as I didn't enjoy it much) but nothing too relevant. Also have a crafter at level 270 to fill in blanks if necessary.

	I use the Sharn Wallwatch set to 29. If you're going to continue to 1-30 for life farming, Epic Storm would be sweet if you have the patience to farm Demon Queen. Toven's Hammer (Level 17) gives you a unique +2 Int plus Lightning strike. Other than that, Don't know. I usually do Slayers from 25 - 29, so being uber geared hasn't been a requirement.

	Personally I like to complain on the motherboards about the utter and complete LACK of decent gear between 16 and 28. Its fucking stupid that an ML15 sharn set is the best in slot until you can have the ML29 version. As for what to actually equip? yeah. Most of us end up wearing our fucking lvl 15 gear all the way to 29. Maybe you swap out KotB for your stat items at 21. Thats pretty much it until 29.

	I disagree, there is an absolute SHIT-TON of good/excellent gear to swap into as you go up from 15/17 sets.. any gaps can easily be filled with CC.. especially if you've been hoarding double slot stuff to blank and craft on. One thing that does seem to be missing is gear with augments other than craftable stuff. I have a couple of single-slotted bits and pieces, but nothing double-slotted. Not willing to pay a butt-load on the SAH really and it's not something you can farm. Again, not sure it's more DPS than dumpster fire dual imbue.

	Sharn gear 15-28. It's a feature, not a bug. I don't want to pull new gear out of the bank every few levels, and I don't have the space for all those different sets anymore anyway. The only thing I would swap in at 20+ is a sentient weapon. I guarantee that eStorm with 150k sentient xp blows Ratcatcher (or any other heroic weapon) out of the water.

	Oh, eVoice is worth swapping in at 20 as well. It doesn't really have any competition since there aren't any sharn or (heroic) ravenloft trinkets.

Just eTRed yesterday and that was indeed the only swap I made other than sticking a jewel on a silver crossbow and feeding it all the other eight bank toons of worthless crap I've been hoarding for 10 years. Got it up to 16k still enough for the 4 slot bonus, 15 RP and 5 DS definitely feels better than ratty, I've only give from 15-20 x4 to 16-20 x3, some of the crit numbers aren't quite as big but definitely feels like more damage overall. Did run a single demon Queen solo for runs but no storm
