Player population has been in freefall as well - losing about 10% a month.  HCL4
took a clear and obvious massive bite out of the live player population.  I'm
guessing they want HCL5 to happen across the December holiday season to
maximise their own profits.  I think the free code is just to boost up population
for this and to soften the impact of U51.  Population almost double when they
last did this; I'd wager they are hoping for the same again.

I think it's pretty clear the days of adventure packs are dwindling. They may release a couple here and there but I think for the most part it's going to be "mini-expansions" where you have to pony up $$$ for them unless you want to wait 6 months.

And you knew that would happen when they did that 2 year thing that included "all content released in the next 2 years" which ended up being like 2 packs?

The ongoing trend of retrospective gear nerfs is my biggest problem. Half these items are no longer worth the time that has gone into getting them.
