I've never seen coms drop in a chest, but they'd have to drop at a very high number in an easy to reach quest not in a wilderness zone before it became worthwhile to farm for them that way.

From levels 20-29 you get a number of comms based on quest level & difficulty in the end reward. You only get Seeds on the end reward list when you hit 30. Is it possible this is what you are thinking of?

The wiki does say:

Drop locations:
Epic quests on difficulties higher than Casual
End rewards for epic quests


^Implying that maybe they might drop in chests somewhere. I've just never seen them, and I run a lot of quests.

Definitely not worth the effort. The chest drops maybe 24 coms. If you brought along 6 chest pullers thats 144 or about 1.5 seeds. But in the time it would take you to REACH the chest you could do 2ish KotB quests for 4 seeds total. Now, it is technically a raid, so you *could* bring 12 chest pullers for ~3 seeds a run. But when you factor in that they all have to be lvl 20 or above(who among us has 11 alt accounts with naked barbarians?) and the just the time required to open and pass on each character... yeah, KotB or ID still works out to a better seed-per-minute rate.

Well we're talking about Ruins of Thunderholme, part of Shadow Under Thunderholme, which was either part of the free code or a paultry 99 points. So its doable especially if they got heroic boxes for a buck each and use AwesomeAF. That said as a method its still worse than basically everything else that's been suggested.

i'd recommend running a few saga lines on r10, get the rxp, the seeds and maybe some sxp all at the same time

I've found that having 3-4 capped characters(first life, no tomes, no raid gear) and doing the 5 shortest quests in KotB is best. I haven't timed it out yet but it feels like it takes maybe 20 minutes to pull 10 seeds. I know those quests are faster by far than most others.
