Will "megaserver" Orien finally end DDO?

With more than 1000 accounts moving to Orien this month, the lag has gone through the roof. I thought Gland was bad, but this is way worse. Looks like increasing server capacity or even buying the state of the art server wont help it seems, as the code is terribad.
So with more and more people in the queue to move to Orien, will the game finally crash to a player created megaserver?

Is that confirmed accounts or just toons?

I know some people are taking the deep dive and transferring everything over.  That's usually at least 5 up to 10 toons with alts and mules.

There must be a secret Orien II or I got some lag benefits or something. Or what is much more likely you are exaggerating the lag and the numbers since it is characters and not accounts. And a lot of those characters get deleted after the inventory and bags are cleared out.

I mean I've only heard of people with a ton of toons deleting some. Like one guy with 44 went down to 35. Or one gal with 33 dropped down to 31. No one else I know has deleted any.

~~

The lag on Orien is bad. Anyone saying otherwise is rationalizing. It is not as bad as when Deathwyrm came out and every other run wiped but it is bad enough to make an LH skellies feel like R1 in pugs. Sure, leveling you won't have problems but if you pull red alert be prepared to make the hamsters chug.

Reaper with Lag is the new difficulty setting.

So most people have not deleted extra toons, most being 2 out of the 3 people who talk to you.

Anyone who forgot to consider lag while packing up all their shit to join tourists from every other server deserves at least some special regret lag that only DDO can provide.

eh the lag was fine then they switched off transfers and its now worse, I cant help think this was a deliberate action on SSGs part to discourage more transfers.

We'll if there were a megaserver, ofcouse I'd rule it. Just like Cannith and every hardcore they've launched. And I think I'm a fair ruler. I try to distribute the wealth and assist in growth of both individuals and guilds alike. Speaking of alike..
I'm a I like me kind of person. I do wish I could share myself with all of you but alas something about some nonsense like a sperm count. Idk.

Anyways we now return you to your incessant dreams.

What?? It never mentioned nor did I get my name in HoH. But I did get together 1 million plats within the first 4 days of HC 6... Then I spammed it all over every zone I could zone to. Nay no that did make the papers.

The servers are virtualized nowadays, so new hardware won't do shit if the VMWare/KVM/Hyper-V has not been tweaked correctly. ... and Orien could be sharing the same hardware as Sarlona, with some level of overbooking in the ressources domain.

Character wise : my two stables of 20+ characters won't move totally once transfers are back.
There's a number of mules that will be left to rot on G-Land.
I guess most of the old players and especially the European Refugees still there are doing the same... we had huge stables of toons ( IIRC we had over 12 character slots in Europe per server... ).

Yes my avatar is an Hermine eating a Greenland Lemming for brunch.

But can it fix my sister's broken marriage?

I'll never understand the propensity of people to brag about being good at a video game. Its a toy you play with for fun. The only person who should be proud of you is your mother. If you're 3.

After the last chain-aggro changes Dungeon Alert is literally a source of lag in on itself.

Especially in explorer zones. They even made mobs inactive till you're right on top of them in latest expansion, Several parties red alerting a bunch of explorer zones can and will cripple a server LOL.
