For realz. The letting go, if it was on the 3rd, would be about 1 week before the release. The letting go could have happened a few days before the 3rd, but not a lot before, according to my sources.

I bug report using the in game tool on Lama (not this, since I wasn't aware of it, but this is just how I go about pointing out bugs on Lama) and generally get a Forum response - often from Cocosi, who I suspect has the not-loved task of messaging all the folks who use that tool, rather than is necessarily the dev working on them.

hmmmmm heres a thought what if myddoexploit is acualy a turbine dev
look it it this way people are leaving ddo in droves turbine needs money.
they sell +3 tomes in store makes a little revenue not much.
they bring out house cannith no change in population.
usual method they bring out u12 with plenty of haste but they bring it out with a gaping hole in code hoping word would get round the servers and increase there revenue for a little bit didnt work ,why because those that use exploits keep em under there hat.
Patch is made so on the weekend before patch goes live they post it on these forums including a step by step guide of how to do it.

Reasons behind this thinking:-
1, next to no people got banned for this exploit.
2, how many vip accounts and cannith packs were sold that weekend (we will never know but i bet it was more then in the 2 months prior).
3, Aparently non of those chests drop guild renown  another oddity
4, we know from this thread turbine were fully aware of this exploit well before it went live
