I made one with two sorc PLs, but stalled out leveling him at 12.  Really didn't like it all that much.  Someday I'll get back to finishing him.

Can't bring myself to like them.  Juggernaut build was the best bet, and I still hated that.

I enjoyed the pew-pew for one life. Got pretty stale though. Certainly couldn't be bothered to invest the time in past-lives to make it be slightly viable (but still sub-par) DPS to run epic levels. Occasionally drag it out to run a shroud or something if I'm bored. I think he's got 16 completions across two years or something Cheesy

EDIT: I do think they make good niche characters though. They're good for permadeath with an evasion splash, and also quite good as a past-life framework I believe (although not a patch on munks).

If you have a spare +1 (or higher) heart you can make a bladeforged 18Arti/2Monk. That way you can get all the good level 6 spells (reconstruct, deadly weapons, blade barrier) and evasion. I went Int based and ignored the rune arm outside of boss fights. That way you can be useful even in ee groups, but the pew pew gets boring...

I capped an Arti, got him three Ranger lives and a monk life then levelled him as an Arti again...  and there he sits.  At some point, I went completely off the pew-pew, probably while trying to level him off-destiny.  I can't advance him without more TR'ing or off-destiny levelling and I can't stand to do it, so there he be, crafting twink gear for other toons  :/

I have a lvl 25 WF Repeater build Artificer. I really like it and will plan to cap it after a few of my other projects are completed.

Repeater based they just don't see to hold up in the dps department anymore.  I was much happier with mine back when cap was 20.

Currently on main's 8th life arty. Took 12 and been playing World of Tanks for 2 weeks. DPS dies after level 18. Told that if I dont have Needle, TR immediately. Dont bother with ED's, just get out.
  
Frog on all servers, but Cannith is home.
