Ssssoooooooooooo, hey maj could we *please* get the reasoning behind WHY the copy tool isn't up & running?

Is it as Flav says is it tied to the machine that had the API on it? Or another reason altogether?

Really would like the reasoning/rationale/line of thinking about this....Sigh.

Fuck that.  I still posted on both forums despite the potential consequences.

And that made me respect you because to my mind that threat never made any sense. It was also never very explicitly stated either. Just 'understood'

There is a reason, and it's really fucked up.

Yes I gathered that, cos no one from Turbine has addressed it directly at all(just cryptically).

Anyways, carry on. Sigh.

There were far less wipes of ML toons than Lamania, and it was very easy to re-gear/level up.

It took them far too long to provide the tools on Lamania that were on ML.

And they are crazy to not have copy tools working when they open up Lamania. Only the hard core will bother going through the process to get characters leveled up so they are missing out on a huge amount of feedback.

maybe eliminating ML so they only have one preview server, will get them to start fixing the character copy shit on Lam.

Have you tried a lower difficulty, such as the official forums?

They havent done anything with character copy in the last 2 months - knowing full well ML was shutting down, so I doubt they care a lot.

Or more, there are so few people left at Turbine who know how to code, they cant afford to shift them away from the Zynga / XP stone / TR box $$$ earning jobs to fix the non-important stuff like playtesting and bug reporting.

Ya ditto on the in game bug reporting tool not working for how many months now? I've lost track.

Would again LOVE to hear the reasoning/rationale/line of thought as to WHY it's not working/been fixed.

If they fixed it they would then have to admit they are ignoring our bug reports.

Far better to just make it impossible to report the bugs in the first place.

That's not the point. I'm asking/begging to know the actual freaking reason(hopefully from Maj).

WHY the in game bug reporting tool, which they trumpeted about I distinctly remember it was suppose

to streamline things & make it easier for QA & make it easier for the players etc to find/catch & report bugs has not been

working for these many, many months.

That's great there's a work around, that's fine, but again WHY isn't the in game one working properly?

If they couldn't remove the dupe exploited products without resorting to manual intervention, what makes you think they'd ever be able to develop a technological fix to copying characters?

no you said it was impossible, I was simply pointing out it was not, everything else you said I have no issue with. The tools should be working abd the character copy tool should be working.
It should have been a pre req for moving lama to ML status in my opinion. Do I blame the QA staff, no because I am sure they want them working just as much as you do.

It could be that they already have such a huge backlog of stuff to fix.  With more work than they will ever get to, why make it easy for folks to add even more potential work to the pile?

Don't get me wrong, this is one of my biggest peeves as well.  It's a bad joke.  I will continue to refuse to take them seriously about "listening to the players" or "quality" until this is fixed, at a minimum.

Well if they give me the datamodel I can probably devlop the SQL queries needed.
After it's going to be the Chimp's job to integrate them into the website.
I have low expectations when it comes to Turbine Web Chimps since the Forum Downgrade.

Edit : or they moved all the thing to India and the Indian Chimps are telling them they can't code anything since the software is end of support (sorry got into a fight with Indian colleagues that can't understand that a 2 year software life cycle is plainly retarded when you have telecom operators as customers that think in decades... Just the validation process of a given software is longer than the lifecycle of the software... so when the software is actually loaded on the live network it is already end of support. )

Why can't they just link the external url onto the bug report feature in-game?

I know it's the lazy way out - but better than having no bug report whatsoever in game.

It's a problem for the Chimps... Would you trust the Chimps that performed the Forum Downgrade to actually manage to embed a simple URL into the game ?
( remember It's the same Chimps that are unable to generate short URLs for the Store and thus made it mandatory for the Devs to find a workaround named Awesomiumprocess.exe )
