So I will have a completionist (finally!) sometime tonight, and I want to TR it into something silly, fun, and at least somewhat effective.

So here's my thought:

Bladeforged Holy Spirit.

Wiz 12

Yeah, I'm not figuring on doing too many EEs past the first few epic levels, since I'm not going to spend a bunch on gear just for one life.

I'll make a TF and maybe upgrade it once or twice, but that's about it.

Changed the feats up a bit, couldn't wait to take completionist.  Tongue

And I needs mah cleaves.

Didn't get a chance to play it last night, but the fire spellsword skin looks damned cool on Insanity being held by an undead, purple eyed spiky BF surrounded by eldritch mist.

I also changed to numbers around to actually add up to where they made sense.

For an arcane melee I'm thinking 17 wiz/3bard swf/swash. Stack up a bunch of vorpals in vampire form and watch the trash just melt.

For arcane melee I am really enjoying the WF 18/2 wiz/rog. As a first life toon it really suffers from lack of spell penetration. The spell DC's are not EE quality, but I have no problems on EH.

I turned one of my Monks into a 12Mnk/6Wiz/2Pal robot with Recon and perma Eldritch from EK. It's great lazy play and a nice change to play a Monk base (run speed, Step, etc.) as a survivable, self-buffing melee. The DPS is not great, it's average, but I don't mind that: 1) game easy for most part, 2) difference of milliseconds in trash dying, 3) difference of <1 min on most boss fights, 4) lots of variety in a mutt still, 5) good access to spells on a toon I'm too lazy to farm the good clickies out on.

So yeah, not optimal but a nice change and viable.

How about a melee based bladeforged wizard?

11 Wiz / 2 Pal / 2 Ftr

Take SLA reconstruct from Bladeforged tree for self healing.

This will give a BAB of 9, so ICrit: slashing can be taken at 15 for use with the greatsword.

6 base feats, 2 fighter, 3 wiz
PA, Cleave, GC, ICrit, Dodge, THF (str 15), iTHF (BAB 6, str 17), WF: Slashing
Wiz Feats: Extend, Eschew Materials, Quicken

That build made sense before the pally pass. If I made a challenge farmer today, I would go bladeforged 15 pally and summon Mikayl for the challenges where Ddoor helps.

This is my thoughts as well, not great, but fun and different and just neat.  I decided to go heavy, though, since I've spent so many lives in monk jammies on this character already, and haven't really done anything in heavy armour in epic levels since MRR was added.

I ran around a bit, and the damage is about where I thought it would be, but my burst healing from Negative Energy Burst isn't.  Does anyone know if the Pale Master neg energy heal amp is working properly, or if there is something screwy with heal amp from past lives, ship buffs, or WF heal amp penalties?  I'm not a math guy, but I can give data if someone would care to check it out for me.

Cool, sounds good. I wanted to go deeper into Wiz, like you, but found the neg energy healing lacking, like you. I figured it was lack of optimal gear on my part but it wouldn't surprise me if the enhancements were broke too. The burst healing was poorer than even a badly specced heal amp regular fleshie. Coupled with the access to Harm scrolls being iffy, I gave up and TRed the deeper wiz PM build into a ranged character. Glad you're having a good time though! Good to hear it's viable now.

To be honest with the game the way it is I'm considering wearing heavy armour on the monk too Wink

So, after a while playing, (currently sitting at 26) I find myself liking this, but not as much as some other lives.  I decided upon a 12/4/4 split to fit all the feats I wanted.  Most of my points went into EK (it really is a trap, eh?) for doublestrike and arcane spell failure reduction.

It's the lack of healing that prevents me from really enjoying it, and needing to shrine quite a lot more than with other characters.  ~240 neg spell power, aura ticks for 40-50 and burst hits for 180-200.  Not great, especially with a couple of stacks of the light DoT on me.

Damage is okay, mostly because Thunder-forged.  I made a lvl 22, 24 and 26 because why the hell not.  Getting around 240 per swing with a full Blitz on with the lvl 24 version, critting for ~1100 sometimes.

So I can burn through EH without any difficulty (duh) but EEs (solo, anyway) take a bit of attack/retreat and heal up kind of strategy, which was not my intention; I was picturing sweeping in and cleaving the crap out of everything.  I was thinking about maybe swapping out my current twists for Shiradi, to see if my aura or the EK burst damage triggers the procs for some extra DPS. (If anyone can tell me if they do or do not, that would be appreciated!)  I won't likely tackle any of the higher-level EEs without a group.

My gear is sub-par, mostly the same stuff I wear every life.  I'm in Black Dragonscale, and will likely remain in it until cap, since I find the lvl 26 TF armour kinda crappy, since I don't need fort and I'm already ghostly.  The 28 would be neat if I intended to spend more than six minutes at cap though.

So, anyway, flavour build for sure, sub-sub optimal, but an interesting diversion.

I'd love to see another tier of EDs that are mutli-sphere, for use from 26-30.

Arcane + Divine = Arch-necromancer; make a real lich (thx Epoch for inspiration)
Arcane + Martial = Battlemage; Shield & Staff equipped at once, channel spells through melee attacks
Arcane + Primal = Shaman; super control spells
Divine + Primal = Hierophant; Dragon form?
Divine + Martial = Chosen One; Evangelical power!  (faith-based charms and smites)
Martial + Primal = I dunno, some sort of super ranger or something.

That would be neat.  Let's turn power creep into a power blitz.

If I had a completionist, I'd love to get little flavour, like drow or elf, or perhaps not "optimal" weapon or maybe rogue splash or something.
But this is pushing it heh.
